Terribly disappointed, there is no bar at pool side and no pool side waiters. In addition you are not allowed to bring your own alcholhol on your premises. In addition there is no clothing optional section. We discovered the busy time for them in May through August. We were here in February and the water was unusual cold but we had the whole water park to ourselves which made it kind of romantic. Also they only run the water slides during peak season. It was walking distance from the Plainfield yacht and boat club. If you get a chance talk to the harbor master was much help as an unofficial guide and knew many attractions. Also keep in mind sasquatch mating season is in the cool months and you can ohten hear them purring late at night.(it sounds like whale song) also very romantic. A must see are the submarine races, they occur to greet in the lunar new year, very exciting.

Lots of chairs and equipment on what I viewed as a fairly crowded day. Appeared to have lots of lifeguards who were all doing their job (eyes on the water, not standing around chatting, etc.) Did not check out bathrooms but others reported they were very less than impressed by them.

My kids actually don’t like going because it’s so incredibly crowded and that’s fine with me because it’s expensive. It’s nice pools and lazy river and you can take in your small cooler. Just be prepared to be cramped in your space.

We absolutely love splash island. I drive from Terre Haute to take my daughter all the time. She's 3, and I have to bribe her to get her to leave. As an adult I think it's a fun place, but I think kids under probably 14 are best suited for this place, even though there is something for all ages.
My only advice is to get there early so you get a lawn chair.
... and I wish the bathrooms were larger!

I saw a commercial on the travel channel for Splash Island. I was super excited! I did not know Indiana had a water park (as the commercial lead to believe). I even DVRed the commercial so I could show the kids our post church activities. My son even insisted on wearing his trunks under his sundays best. So we got to there at the posted opening time. There was a big line of what I would guess to have been the staffs family because, they were getting in for free and had all kinds of attitude towards my family and I. When I finally reached the ticket booth I learned that I had to pay extra because I did not live in the area. After we paid more money than I would have ever expected we preceded to the locker room that turned out to be four or five stall bathroom. It was packed and it took over ten minutes to change. Finally out and ready to swim we had to settle on placing our towels and other belongings in the damp grass. We were in the pool no longer than ten minutes and my daughter came to me crying. From what she said she was not allowed to play catch with her cousin and the lifeguard yelled at her and said that they knew she was going to be a problem. I tried to talk to one of the teens in charge but they just blew me off. I don't want to go on and on so I will hold back on the crazy sexual harresment I revived from a number of employees that thought I would not notice through their blank face and dark sunglasses

I very much like this place, they speak British here. First June/July is sasquatch mating season. The normally shy 1500 pound creatures loose their inhibitions and will be romantically involved anywhere, anytime on anything. If you have young children, older children or adults children they will have a through lesson on the birds and the bees. The sasquaches are gentle giants and will make a purring sounds at night when mating, also FYI they are marsupials. Be sure see the July 4th firefly race next to the Plainfield boat and yacht club. The unlimited class will have over 1500 lightning bugs circumventing a 2.5 mile oval. It second in racing only to the Kentucky derby. Be sure to get a camel steak at the turn 2 concession stand. Also plainfield has the largest populations of camels outside the Mideast. Be sure to visit the Humel Civil War Battlefield. It was the second largest battle in the North. Between the Union Quakers and the Confederate Amish. Over 57,000 Confederate and 80,000 soldier fell. Which makes it one of the most haunted places in the Union. Be sure to take a ghost tour. If you are not a believer you will be! Also be sure go to gravity hill it is near the monument of General Hadly. I have seen balls and even water go up hill. You would have to see it to believe it. It us also s hot spot for UFOs but I did not see any. Be sure to talk to the harbor master at lake Plainfield look up "Captain Denny" he knows the history of the are and is a great resource on what to see. There is also a water part there, but there is no valet service. But other than that it is a nice place.

I have an 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl. Both really enjoyed the day at Splash Island. It was very crowded (Saturday). My son enjoyed the 3 large waterslides most. My daughter liked playing with me in the splash area which was perfect because I could watch him go up and down the waterslide while keeping her with me in the smaller pool adjacent. We stayed for probably about 4 hours, and my kids loved every minute of it.

There is a water slide in the indoor pool and a play area for smaller kids with a walk-in area for the toddlers. There is also a lazy river and hot tub area.

Can I rent out the entire waterpark for a graduation part that will have about 100 people or so? If yes what would the pricing be?
Written June 23, 2017
I don't know if this is a good answer but, Plainfield schools start back Tues Aug 2 so if that's not a conflict with you or you can come another day next week it will probably be very light traffic. Hope this helps.
