Great distillery and Cocktail Flights
Sep. 2019
The Coldstream Clear Distillery tasting room is located just off the highway as you are headed into Halifax. It is really easy to access, but is hiding behind the Taco Bell so it is easy to drive past it the first time if you do not know what you are looking for.

Once you have found it the tasting room is a lot of fun. They have a wide range of rums and vodkas that you can sample as well as their sodas which are premixed drinks with soda water. You can also order a flight of cocktails which the staff makes right there in front of you. The day we visited the staff member was amazing and was very kind and helpful.

With your cocktail flight in hand, you can head out outside to enjoy drinking them. The drinks were all very tasty. We tried the Blueberry Mojito the Creamsicle, Espresso Martini and the Paradise. Our two favorites were the Espresso Martini and Paradise.

We stopped because we were working on getting stamps for the Cheers Trail, but it would be a great stop for anyone that enjoys small distilleries from the local area.

Located at Mastodon Ridge, Cold Stream Clear is a fabulous distillery of spirits. We never miss an opportunity to stop here when we are on a Nova Scotia Roadtrip, of which there are many.

These spirts are absolutely delightful, refreshing, flavourful, and the perfect addition to any home bar. We have a collection of favours – with favourites being Candy Cane, Caramel, apple pie, cinnamon hot shot, and the peppermint patti.
We always pick up several bottles when we are there to ensure we are well stocked.
You can sample every flavour when you visit, and if you are lucky they may be distilling a favourite flavour that the aroma will amaze you.

Great selection of products

Coldstream Clear distillery is a small distillery located right off the highway at Mastodon Ridge. We tried their cocktail samples...orange creamsicle, dark and stormy, vodka soda and paradise. The drinks were served with a small snack of chicago mix. The staff was friendly and informative. We left with a bottle of their apple pie. Great little stop with a nice cozy patio to enjoy drinks on.

The distillery has a tasting station so you can make an informed decision before buying. We purchased 3 bottles, peppermint, apple pie and coffee. So excited to start using them. This is a hidden gem. Highly recommended.

So this was our first stop while on vacation, wanted to bring back a few bottle of spirits. We stopped in and looked around, it might be small on the outside but inside it was loaded with variety and so nicely appointed. Usually you go to a distillery and they pour their product straight into a sampler glass or paper cup. Not here, the hostess made us 4 cocktails each celebrating one of their products, smaller sizes, yes but enough to know what you can create with their products. We left with 10 bottles. Love this place, can you tell?

It was a surprise
Sep. 2017 • Couples
This is from a country boy from Ontario. I certainly did not expect to run into a small distillery at a rest stop in the middle of Nova Scotia on the Veteran's Memorial Highway at Stewiacke. According to the lady at the desk at this shop, the product is not only sold here, but it is DISTILLED here as well. At a highway rest stop. I think that that's marketing will balls.

Now nobody is going to test any of these products and then get behind the wheel of a vehicle. It's the juxtaposition of the highway rest stop and distillery that is a riot.

We found a wide range of product on the shelf. Lots of standard liquor you would find anywhere in addition to some exotic flavours. We bought a 750 bottle of dark rum. Tried it when we got home and we are declaring it a winner.

It looks like family is behind this business, and we wish them success.

Wonderful products

They have a good variety of spirits to try. Most of their items are sold in half pints (200ml), or quarts (750ml). It would be nice to see different sizes in the future, 50ml, and 375ml. Their products make lovely gifts, we've even send some to England. If you stop in, you need to sample some or buy some to sample at home.
