Great place to see!

I have been to the Memorial Opera house 6 or 7 times now. I have always had a great time. Not a bad seat in the house. A great value for a live show.

When I performed in the college pit orchestra for musicals and operas at the Memorial Opera House in the 1960's it was a real 'pit'. Built in 1893 by the Grand Army of the Republic, the Memorial Opera House went through a renovation about 20 years ago. Improvements continue today. The 350+ seat auditorium hosts concerts, a community theater series,... More

We were invited to a noontime concert here, since we were travelling in the area. The concert was wonderful (Piano quintet..Schubert). But the Opera House is a star in its own right. This is a faithful restoration of this 1893 building..down to the color choices. The boxes, the stage, the 'Gay 90's ornamentation have you experiencing the opulence of that... More

I recently attended a play at the Opera House and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The actors, musicians, and director are all top-notch!

My wife and I along with our friends went to Valparaiso, Indiana for a lunch time cabaret series concert at the Memorial Opera House. This was our first time doing this. It was an old building which needs desperate repair in the inside. However, it was an enjoyable time. We went there for a concert entitled "British Invasion" which featured songs... More

Liked the theater, very cute, built in the late 1800s, looked like the kind of theater where Lincoln was shot. We saw Les Miserables here, yes it was a little-theater production, not the big broadway one, so the sound system is not perfect nor is the caliber of performers, BUT we enjoyed it just the same. Nice date night. Recommended.

When in the world would you expect such professional singing and acting to make a totally entertaining performance? Why, in Valparaiso, WHY NOT?

I love this old theatre for a great "date night" with my husband. They have local talent and they are as good as you would see in a big city. Sign up for their emails and get first hand notices of what is coming. Free parking across the street in the city lot, and the price of a ticket is... More

The memorial opera house is located is a landmark building that hosts several plays and musical acts. The size of the venue makes every seat excellent. The quality of the performances is top notch.

I loved the show. I was irritated by a photographer that was probably being paid for advertising the oprea house but it felt like a huge distraction!
