Expanded 50,000 sq. ft. building opened in July 2012 with a world-class exhibit "Alphonse Mucha: Inspirations of Art Nouveau" featuring 230 pieces direct from Prague and London. Two other galleries feature rotating exhibitions on the culture, art and history of Czechs and Slovaks. And don't miss the two-room 1880's Czech immigrant house that was home to five generations. See the new museum store filled with European treasures and gifts. Stroll down Czech Village and also visit the exhibition, "Rising Above: the Store of a People and the Flood" located a 87 Sixteenth Ave. SW

Very good exhibits with timelines to give folks without any background context. We enjoyed the short films as well.

This was a super interesting and fun museum. Kids and adults had a great time. Interesting exhibits, old and new, covering political, cultural, historical, and many other elements of the Czech and Slovak people. Worth a visit for sure. Nice gift shop as well.

They are helpful if you wish to do genealogy research. The displays of donated items are great and interpreted in a tasteful and interesting manner. There is free, heated underground parking. This is not a great museum for small children under 5, though, but the...More

The NCSML is a gem in Cedar Rapids. The museum has a first class permanent exhibit chronicling the Czech’s and Slovak’s immigration to the US. It also has two galleries which have had fantastic exhibits featuring Warhol, Chihuly, and even Madeline Albright’s pins collection.

I feel fortunate to have visited the National Czech and Slovak Museum on many occasions. Featuring exhibits that include works by Warhol, Chihuly and the pins of Madeline Albright, they also have an outstanding gift shop and host events from wedding receptions to fundraising galas....More

The permanent exhibits there are good, helps anyone understand the Czechs coming to America and contributions here. They also have traveling exhibits, which have a Czech connection. I have seen Madeline Albright's broach collection and most recently D. Chihuly glass works. Always enjoy a visit...More

We hadn’t been to the museum since its move to the current location. It’s beautiful! We went to the Chihuly exhibit as well as the Sokol exhibit. I have previously seen two Chihuly exhibits; each of the three has been different in terms of the...More

The permanent exhibits in this museum reflect the Czech and Slovak background of Cedar Rapids. There are also very good short term exhibits.

Very nice place, large, good seating. We were only served appetizer's but they made sure that everything was kept full and the line was always moving.

I personally would not take a 4 year old to the museum. I feel the museum is geared more for adults...with a couple of hours I would try the Playstation, off Collins. A road trip= little ones need to stretch and unwind.
