For a number of years Eco-Tours of the backwaters of the Mississippi River have been offered on the Blue Heron, a 26 passenger pontoon boat. Now there's two new additions to the fleet at the Rock Creek Marina and Campground. The Clinton County Conservation Department recently acquired 2-29 foot Voyageur canoes, similar in style to what fur traders and explorers... More

Staff is friendly and the Eco building are great for small children. The freshwater fish tank is really cool. We have have many good times at Rock Creek over the years.

Its one of our go to camping spots, some times we will stay a week+ here. 50 amp service. we also have friend that have a boat slip which makes it easy for boating fun. it can get a bit buggy from time to time, so just prepare for it.

Excellent place for families to hang out. You can rent a boat for $20/hr and go fishing etc. Nice view of the Mississippi River. The employees were friendly especially Morgan. She told us so much about the turtles and fish that they have inside the building. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This small campground at riverside park is fantastic. For the money, you can't beat it. Well kept, level sites with water and electric. The only drawback is the train track next to it, but in Iowa, it's hard to stay most anywhere not near one. We'll be back.

Great place to go to in the summer for fish frys. Made from scratch coating on the fish is the best.

I took my 12 year old daughter and 14 year old son on the eco-cruise on my son's birthday. We learned so much about the Mississippi River and enjoyed the ride. The conservationist even let my son drive the big pontoon boat, The Blue Heron. It was FREE but I did have to call in advance and make reservations. This... More

Excellent boat ramp w/access to Mississippi river. Clean shower facilities w/decent selection of fast food to go or dine-in. Impressive waterside campsites. Small but impressive natural resources educational museum. Very impressed with this newly updated and expanded facility.
