I am not gardener. Though I can keep some things alive, I rarely go through the effort. Everything in my yard is effort-free like hostas. I went to Seed Savers because my friend that I was with in Decorah to watch a Division III women's...More

What an interesting mission! I really enjoyed walking through the clean, organized gift shop. They have an amazing selection of seeds, gardening tools, and books. The grounds are just gorgeous -- gardens, trails, barns, animals. Definitely worth the drive out of town.

This place didn't open until 10:00. Was small and out of our way. Had few plants out. No cell phone reception.

There are many seeds and plants not available anywhere else. Garden supplies, crafts, home goods, decor and a beautiful location make this a must stop if you are in the area. You can also walk the grounds to enjoy the walking paths and the property.

If you have time stop at the Seed Savers exchange for a visit. This organization was founded to preserve seeds and to protect seed diversity. There is a nice demonstration garden and gift shop that is well worth the time for a stop.
