Ice is slippery. The ground is ice. It's neat to check out, but difficult to traverse. Would not recommend for over 50's or bad knees, etc. (you could go partway & atop so don't avoid if there are young/old in your party). Very very short walk from parking to cave entry. Probably easier to get "in" to the cave in... More

Very cool rock formation inside you can't go too far inside the cave but the temperature difference is amazing going in on a really hot day.

A special place to stop and explore- no entry fee- good for kids! This would especially nice to go into, during the summer, when it's hot, as the cave is always in the 50's!

We stopped here on our way to Dunning park which is just up the road from here. A short set of steps up to the cave entrance. This is probably not for anyone that is claustrophobic. Interesting limestone formation.

If you're in the area it's worth the stop. It will only take a few minutes to walk up the steps and see the inside of the cave.

The only ice cave between the Atlantic and the Black Hills. The main cave had a wall that shifted in the 1990's leaving a small opening to crawl through in order to continue back another 100 feet or so. A metal grate blocks the way now - liabilities. You can still walk about 20 feet inside, but be cautious as... More

This is a small cave that ices up during certain times of the year. It wasn't iced up on our trip but it was cool to see. You can enter the cave about 40 feet and you're done.

We stopped in when the ice wasn't present and knew that going in. However the cave is basically just an entrance. This is just a five minute stop at best.

The ice cave is pretty small, but worth the visit. Loved the older rock steps going to it. Turn sideways and may have to bend knees slightly to get into the back part where the ceiling is higher and room opens up slightly

Easy to find. Must feel adventurous and bring a flashlight or headlamp. There is an informative sign worth reading about the history and scientific importance of this cave. Go see it!
