Beautiful park just minutes from downtown Des Moines. Nice wide multi-use path around the lake, about a 2 mile loop. A few swimming beaches, plus a boating center where you can rent an assortment of small watercraft.

A beautiful green place to visit during the day or evening--weekday or weekend. I find it very relaxing to ride my bike over to the lake and sit and read a book by the water. Much to do there too ---can rent a canoe, paddleboats...dogs are welcome. There is a beach for swimming too.

The trail surrounding the lake is absolutely awesome! It is in great shape and big enough for lots of people to use. Love it!

Great place to take a walk or just relax. I think it provides a great place to take pictures also. The walkway bridge is really cool at night with the lights and great for picture taking

Always been busy and something going on. But still a great place to get a way and always doing something to make the park better.

My wife and I have done 3 walks around the lake and have loved it every time. Not crowded if you go before noon. The wildlife is wonderful to watch and photograph.
