I love this place! My family goes on this every time we visit Dubuque. I have even taken my husband's parents (from the UK) and they also loved it. The view at the top is spectacular! A must see in Dubuque.

I was here many years ago and swung by on a whim again. The elevator has awesome views and is just a little scary. Love it!

This is an authentic piece of Americana. It hasn't changed at all since my first visit to Dubuque nearly 50 years ago. It's a fun experience for families both young and old to travel up and down the rails in the stair-stepped seats and you...More

We had a blast riding the elevators. It offered the best view of the city of Dubuque. It was cheap and interesting to hear the history. The attendant at the top of the elevator was very friendly and pointed out the different states we could...More

We stopped by the top of this elevator. What a remarkable delight! The "conductor" was friendly and knowledgeable. The view of the river was gorgeous and the ride looked interesting!

A nice way to see the city's view from Summit. Take this historic cable car up to see the view of the Mississippi. Then go to have great coffee at Monk's.

Something silly to do while visiting the city of Dubuque. The view from the top is wonderful. Add a little history to your trip.

This is a fun-out of the ordinary-attraction in Dubuque. Pay $1.50 one way to ride the rail car. It's steep, but even for someone afraid of heights, it wasn't too bad. The bottom has lots of neat shops and coffee houses. The city has contracted...More

This is a fun, “out of the ordinary” idea for a 1/2 day excursion. Ride from the top down or the bottom up for $3 round trip per adult. Great views and fun little shops at the bottom. City has painted murals on many of...More

Small elevator car that takes you either up or down a steep hill (or round trip). Cost is $3 RT and unfortunately was nothing special. The smell of grease from the tracks was overwhelming and I couldn't stand in the shack at the bottom for...More

Not intense. You are seated (a bit crowded!) in the car. It is fun and if you are lucky, in October there might be a bit of fall color. The view is lovely on a clear day. It can be a bit tricky getting in and out, but you... More

No, the elevator car is very narrow and set up like a set of stairs on the inside, there be no where to put the wheelchair.
