It was worth the money. About a 45 minute tour try to go with a smaller group. Very tight spaces definitely not something you wanna do if you don't like tight spaces. Not to far of a drive from Galena il.

Will, our guide was lots of fun. He knows tons about this cave. He was interactive and got us all to see the shadows in the stalagmites and stalagtites. I will agree that price is a few dollars more that it should be but not...More

Bring extra socks! I read other reviews about the puddles, so I was prepared. Very glad I did as there was rain recently so some of the puddles were deep and unavoidable. Did not detract from the experience as I was prepared. My only complaint...More

Went on the 12:15 tour today for 45 minutes. The tour guide was so monotone and you could tell that she simply memorized the script. No personality at all. The formations were still interesting to see, since they were limestone (which truly does have the...More

A very interesting tunnel cave with many formations and a rich history. The tour guide provided lots of details. My issue was that the price of admission to the cave was way too high ($15 for adults) for this venue (paid more than Carlsbad!!). And,...More

I took my 6-year-old daughter on a cave tour. She really loved it. It is a nice cool break in the summer since it was less than 60 degrees in the cave. Other than a couple of bigger puddles, it was very easy to navigate...More

This is a tunnel cave with lots of different kinds of formations. The guide was personable, well informed, and passed along a lot of history and geological information. Enjoyed by 14 and 70 year olds. Easy to get to.

This was a great stop for us. The cave was beautiful!!! Our guide, Ally, was very informative and asked several times if we had questions. She seemed genuinely happy to be working and was enjoying giving the tour. The parking was a bit of a...More

Nice quick cave tour dealing with the formations and the actual tiny crystal lake cave. The store has some nice pieces and you can do some "mining" with their water slew to filter out the gemstones/fossils in your bag.

Perfect overview of the history and formations in the cave. Cece was our guide, and she did a great job making sure everyone was with the group and stayed engaged. Tour is about 45 minutes, which is just enough time, especially with younger kids. Neat...More

Depending on your height,. People carry weight in different ways. I've seen many larger people go through the cave just fine. Thank-you for your inquiry.
