This was a fun hiking spot for us with an elderly dog. Many of the trails were too steep for him because of steps to climb, but we did find several that met his needs perfectly. We were pretty isolated so could walk at any...More

The park has an excellent blend of great trails and terrific views of the Mississippi. The hike to the castle is steep but the view from the top is well worth it. The trails were well maintained and easy to follow.

The Mines of Spain are not to be missed. Ever. Regardless of the Iowa weather the Mines provide varied walks, hills, streams and the Mississippi River.

Beautiful views of the Mississippi river. The Julian Dubuque monument is a must see. We hiked some of the trails that had very nice views. It is a gorgeous area.

You can drive through the mines of Spain and not see much. Park at the Horseshoe trail head and take a short, up hill walk to the north (go left from the parking lot) for one of the most amazing views in the tri states.

We spent an evening taking a couple short hikes in the park. They trails were pleasant and we got to see a lot of wildlife, including a pair of deer. The views of the river and Dubuque to the north were wonderful.

This was a farm 30 or 40 years ago. The best thing I like is fishing and canoeing. The kids may like trails and nature center. If you like to hike and bike I would do heritage trail, from Dubuque to Graf I enjoyed it...More

Beautiful park well worth hiking in. My family (with kids aged 6, 4 and 2) loved it, as it had such different areas to walk in: some rockier faces, a woody trail, a marsh trail (in which we saw nature in action: a snake eating...More
