We hiked Horseshoe Bluff with kids. It's a perfect hike for families. Don't miss it! You can see the river, rocky cliffs, many birds, and more. It only took us about 45 minutes.

Hiked several trails of various lengths and difficulty. Beautiful area. Well maintained trails. Mostly grass paths. There is a paved path near the interpretive center that is partly handicap accessible and features information about various local tree species. Highly recommended.

The canyon in this park is breathtakingly gorgeous, in part because it's unexpected. Climb up to the overlook to see the river, and drive to the Julien Dubuque Monument for some Dubuque history and a closer view of the city.
