We only spent a short time here and got the lay of the land. Will certainly be back to hike and explore. Advise having insect repellant.

The beautiful woodland park is just south of Dubuque, but worth a quick visit if you have time and a car. The view over the Mississippi is wonderful. The simple memorial to Julian Dubuque, the first European to arrive in this area, is sadly somewhat...More

We hiked Horseshoe Bluff with kids. It's a perfect hike for families. Don't miss it! You can see the river, rocky cliffs, many birds, and more. It only took us about 45 minutes.

Hiked several trails of various lengths and difficulty. Beautiful area. Well maintained trails. Mostly grass paths. There is a paved path near the interpretive center that is partly handicap accessible and features information about various local tree species. Highly recommended.
