Don't miss this experience!
4 of us visited The Table in September of 2022 for their 7 course tasting menu. The highlight of our trip to the island!
The old renovated church was beautiful, and the dinning room looked like it may seat like 20-30 people, so very intimate. The chef himself greeted us at our table prior to the meal and explained a little bit more about the menu in front of us, and his inspiration for that week's menu. He was prepared to answer any questions we had and genuinely seemed excited to cook for us.
Three of us ordered the wine flight that the chef paired with the meal. What we WEREN'T expecting, was a free wine tasting experience to go along with our meal! The chef really knew his stuff about the wines they were serving and actually explained each wine, where it came from, the flavor profile, and why he paired it each time the came out to explain the dish that was just put in front of us. It was a very cool added bonus. They only serve Canadian wines and they were exquisite! We found some new favorites that night!
The whole experience was about three hours long, but the food and wine was paced out beautifully. The chef circles around every now and then through the meal to make sure you're enjoying yourself and answer any questions you may have come up with about the meal. It was a very genuine and personal touch that made the evening that much more special.
The food was some of the best we've had! The chef explained that they only use Canadian ingredients, and that they've even eliminated lemons, vanilla, ect completely because they don't grow in Canada. Plus, the chef completely changes the menu every single week!
We all decided by the end of the meal that we couldn't pick a favorite course because they were all just so good.
The bill ended up being about $200/person after the wine flight, tax, ect. Expensive, but amazing value here! You just can't get this type of unique, intimate, and genuine experience anywhere else without hiring a private chef to come to your home.
We also all went to Chef Michael Smith's Fireworks Restaurant for the second time on our trip to PEI and had a similar style meal, but with 5X the people in the dining room. It's a unique experience in itself, for sure, but was nearly 2X the price of The Table, and we had almost the exact same menu we had there in 2021. If you're considering doing one or the other, definitely go to The Table! More intimate dining room, far more personalized service, notably better food, and far more value here.
Will be back in 2023!

Great very good local food and wine concept. High quality local ingredients.
Wine: naja - all Canadian wine - most whites a bit sour, the only one I liked was the dessert wine.
Missing with veggie courses: some home made bread.
Pasta was a bit to al dente. Overall food presentation very nice.
Kind service but not observing; forgets things, looks away and prefer to be behind kitchen counter; the chef does most of the work.
Old nice renovated church; but no atmosphere, bright lights, plastic separator, service rushes through the courses.
The owner is there but not interested in guests, focusing on tourists. Telling a story about being interactive, but is only on rushing a standard procedure.
Can’t recommend a visit for that price. Payed ca. 200+ for one person with drinks.

Since my husband and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary we decided to splurge and go to The Table for the Chef's Table Experience. The whole experience lasts over 2 hours and is simply lovely. Seven courses with Chef Hunter explaining each course as they are served and coming around to each table to mingle/chat. Everything they make is made from local ingredients on PEI and all the wines they featured on the wine flight were all Canadian. Top notch staff and food. You won't leave here hungry, I was already feeling stuffed during the 5th course!

Chef Hunter and the team are doing something really cool and special. They are only cooking and serving local ingredients grown or caught in the area (within 15 mins). So no lemon, lime, vanilla, etc… but they love the challenge of getting creative. You can tell they have amazing relationships with the farmers and folks they get their ingredients from. The wine and beer list were only Canadian too. Chef explained every dish with the wine pairings and stopped to chat with each table multiple times. There is only one service per night for a max of 27 people. Never been to a dinner with applause until this. Absolutely unforgettable!

Chef Hunter's presentation/explanation of the nights offerings was the highlight of the night. This was our 3rd visit to The Table Culinary Studio and it gets better each time. The skills the culinary team displays is second to none. Chef Hunter and Chef Alex are artists at their craft. The staff at The Table have designed a culinary experience that displays the incredible bounty of food available on the island. This is a destination that should not be overlooked. The beautiful open concept repurposed church creates a intimate atmosphere, but at the same time allows you to feel connected to the other guests through the dining experience. Thank you for another great evening.

The dinner was incredible. Now I know what I have been missing! Food sourced from 15 minutes away was delicious. Do not miss this when you visit the Island.

We visited on a Friday evening for the Lobster, Tales and Tunes dinner with local island musician Michael Pendergast performing. It was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. We loved the lobster tacos, charcuterie and oysters in the garden. Things only got better when we moved inside starting with the clam chowder and followed by pan seared halibut, PEI mussels and island beef and lobster. The cheesecake was fabulous but the homemade black currant ice cream sealed the deal. Christine and Derrick have done an amazing job of providing an intimate experience while ensuring each guest feels safe and included. We highly recommend the table ~ you will not be disappointed!!

Amazing food experience! The 7 course meal was incredible but also told through the lens of the Chef's local experience. Most ingredients were found within a short drive from the "restaurant" which was an old renovated church, where you could see Chef Hunter and his team craft these plates. In addition to the food we really enjoyed the stories from the Chef about his ingredients and preparation for the meal. Would highly recommend.

Chef Hunter is a master. In an open kitchen only slightly larger than ours at home, he is cranking out Michelin-worthy menus that embrace everything that is seasonal and local in PEI. With a goal of only-in-Canada ingredients (so far, he’s down to black pepper and sugar as the only exceptions) he’s heading up the only kitchen I visited on our trip that has pulled past Michael Smith’s Inn at Bay Fortune for inventiveness and embrace of local ingredients. Seven courses contained 2 dishes that landed in my top 10 ever. The chanterelles with Parisian gnocchi was unlike anything I have ever tasted - gnocchi so light it practically evaporated. Scallops with cherries and bacon restarted a love of scallops that I thought had died from overexposure. Only two thoughts: do a paired wine flight (I’d have loved to see what he would have lined up with those courses) or expand the wine list a bit. And some cocktails at the beginning would have been great. Overall, spectacular!

Unique dinning experience, great ambiance in this beautifully renovated Church. Food was exceptional, all PEI products prepared to perfection. If you like charcuterie boards as an appetizer .. this is the place for you, best one yet! All Island cheese, meats, homemade relish and sauces. Highly recommend the Table Culinary studio.

We're curious about this. What pricing is there? I read one review about cooking potatoes. Is this offered all the time? (I couldn't find any information on your calendar). Are you open year round? Are you only open seasonal (If so open until what date?)?
