Chef Hunter's presentation/explanation of the nights offerings was the highlight of the night. This was our 3rd visit to The Table Culinary Studio and it gets better each time. The skills the culinary team displays is second to none. Chef Hunter and Chef Alex are artists at their craft. The staff at The Table have designed a culinary experience that displays the incredible bounty of food available on the island. This is a destination that should not be overlooked. The beautiful open concept repurposed church creates a intimate atmosphere, but at the same time allows you to feel connected to the other guests through the dining experience. Thank you for another great evening.

The dinner was incredible. Now I know what I have been missing! Food sourced from 15 minutes away was delicious. Do not miss this when you visit the Island.

We visited on a Friday evening for the Lobster, Tales and Tunes dinner with local island musician Michael Pendergast performing. It was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. We loved the lobster tacos, charcuterie and oysters in the garden. Things only got better when we moved inside starting with the clam chowder and followed by pan seared halibut, PEI mussels and island beef and lobster. The cheesecake was fabulous but the homemade black currant ice cream sealed the deal. Christine and Derrick have done an amazing job of providing an intimate experience while ensuring each guest feels safe and included. We highly recommend the table ~ you will not be disappointed!!

Amazing food experience! The 7 course meal was incredible but also told through the lens of the Chef's local experience. Most ingredients were found within a short drive from the "restaurant" which was an old renovated church, where you could see Chef Hunter and his team craft these plates. In addition to the food we really enjoyed the stories from the Chef about his ingredients and preparation for the meal. Would highly recommend.

Chef Hunter is a master. In an open kitchen only slightly larger than ours at home, he is cranking out Michelin-worthy menus that embrace everything that is seasonal and local in PEI. With a goal of only-in-Canada ingredients (so far, he’s down to black pepper and sugar as the only exceptions) he’s heading up the only kitchen I visited on our trip that has pulled past Michael Smith’s Inn at Bay Fortune for inventiveness and embrace of local ingredients. Seven courses contained 2 dishes that landed in my top 10 ever. The chanterelles with Parisian gnocchi was unlike anything I have ever tasted - gnocchi so light it practically evaporated. Scallops with cherries and bacon restarted a love of scallops that I thought had died from overexposure. Only two thoughts: do a paired wine flight (I’d have loved to see what he would have lined up with those courses) or expand the wine list a bit. And some cocktails at the beginning would have been great. Overall, spectacular!

Unique dinning experience, great ambiance in this beautifully renovated Church. Food was exceptional, all PEI products prepared to perfection. If you like charcuterie boards as an appetizer .. this is the place for you, best one yet! All Island cheese, meats, homemade relish and sauces. Highly recommend the Table Culinary studio.

WOW!

My husband and I have been visiting The Table for dinner at least once per summer for the past 4 years.

We always liked the communal dining experience, but we understood in the time of the COVID, that they needed to change to normal a-la-carte menu serving. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

My husband had the chowder, steak and brownie, and I had the salad, the fish, and the creme brûlée. Everything was spectacular! The best chowder my husband has ever had, the steak was perfectly cooked, and all our veggies were to die for!

The food was delicious, beautiful, and thoughtful. This was the best meal we’ve ever had at The Table.

We talked about our meal the whole way home, and, although we enjoyed the platter service, we decided that we preferred the new style of dining. Getting our own plate of beautifully presented food was exciting, and really added to the experience - there isn’t very many places around anymore for a nice meal out (not to mention we agreed that we can’t imagine being comfortable sharing off the same plate of food with others anytime soon)!

It’s a shame COVID has brought plexi-glass to the forefront of our world, we really used to enjoy the open kitchen feel. It felt like we were hanging out in the kitchen with the chefs! But, like everywhere, it’s the new normal; we understand. Thankfully, the food makes up for the plexi-glass wall!

We have been talking about taking a class for years, and this year is going to be our year! We won’t be leaving this island this summer, so we want to make sure we get ourselves into one of the classes this year!

We will be back for dinner for sure.

Bravo staff!

If you have an opportunity to take a class at The Table, don't miss it. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the owners, Christine and Derrick. They were very informative about seafood in general and lobsters in specific. They showed us how to differentiate between male and female lobsters and, using a lobster trap, how they were caught. When they spoke about the mussel fields, I was amazed to learn how the mussels were farmed and collected. For example, I had no idea that GPS positioning was used to set the parameters for each farm.

But, this was not a lecture. We learned about the techniques while cleaning the mussels which were to become our appetizer. Once cleaned, Chef Taylore had us prepare a fennel based stock for the mussels. (It was so good that, when the mussels had been devoured, we drank the remaining stock directly from the bowl.)

Afterwards, we were taught how to properly boil lobsters. (And, for the perfectly cooked lobster, you don't just pop them into boiling tap water.) Once cooked, we shelled to lobster to remove the meat for a lobster risotto. The chef was delightful as she walked us through the preparation of the risotto using seafood stock which we had made from the lobster shells.

Finally, because the menu was seafood only, Chef Taylore invented a sweet dessert made with scallops. (I know it doesn't sound like a dessert, but it was excellent.)

So, if you have an opportunity to attend a cooking class in this most unique setting, don't miss it.

Visited The Table Culinary Studio recently. It was an unique experience, that was probably my favorite. Executive Chef Alicia had paid attention to every detail. We had the Surf and Turf menu. I cant say enough how amazing it was. They start you off with drinks and a chacoutery board with lots of tasty stuff. George was schucking Green Gables oysters, and quahogs. There was some delicious homemade sauces as well. The appetizer was seafood chowder that was out of this world, the main meal was another wonder of beef, shellfish and lobster. Everything was cooked to perfection. Vegetables all locally grown and everything organic. Dessert was amazing. Our hosts Derrick and Christine were so friendly and welcoming. I was a big fan of the lobster suppers, but after this experience it has changed my mind to experience the tastes of PEI. If you are a foodie, this is one place you must try!
Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This restaurant is in a pretty little church building about 30-40 km north of Charlottetown. Definitely worth the drive. Everyone sat at one long table which makes for a very lively and interesting evening. The night I was there the theme for the dinner was Fisherman's Catch and there was an absolute abundance of fresh delicious seafood. The staff is very friendly and makes a relaxed atmosphere. It felt like a big dinner party with friends. Highly recommend!
