Hills, tees and lots of water. This is a gorgeous park that will make you believe you left Iowa. You can rent boats, canoes and kayaks. Plan ahead on weekends and get a reservation if you want to be sure to get a boat. Great safe beach for kids. Lake is also pretty good fishing.

Plenty of Hiking and boating, won't find a better place or cleaner water anywhere else around. There's also a beach (well what people in Iowa call a beach) peddle boats, kayaks, pontoon rentals, etc. Not a bad place to grill, or camp, or have a picnic. Bring the whole family!

What a beautiful lakeside park. Lots of great natural views. It's definitely in it's natural state. Easy parking, but a little drive into the countryside.

One of my favorite spots in Eastern Iowa is the waterfall at Lake McBride State Park. It is usually best seen in the late winter/early spring when the water is low enough to walk below the falls. It can be quite windy though, so wear a jacket and hat, even in 60 degree weather!

There are seasonal HP restrictions and full time no wake regulations on the lake. There is access to Coarlville Lake in the park for people who want unrestricted boating.

Our family decided to tour the waterfalls of Iow, but with a pending snowstorm, we squeezed in this one before we scurried home to beat the bad weather. Lake MacBride State Park is bigger than we realized, so between Google maps and a map of the lake we found online, we did eventually find the waterfall. There are a few... More

We've been coming here for many years. It's a lovely lake. From Memorial Day to Labor Day there is a limit on size of boat motor with a max of 10. The lake has some charming lookouts, nice walking trails along the water's edge, nice camping areas and a good swimming area with boat rental. The local towns of Solon... More

We've been a couple times now and just love this place. We've rented canoes and kayaks and would highly recommend to families.
