Since it was in the park, we just drove by it since we've been to the other bridges years ago.

so easy to get to ;)

we were tired after walking around john wayne's museums, his birth place, quilt museum, and mercantile store! to tired to get out again.

There are six bridges total. All are nice and easy to find. We were there on a week day, and there were only a few visitors at each of the bridges. You will enjoy this one since it's right in town by the park and no gravel road to travel on.

This beautiful historic covered bridge is one of the six bridges of Madison County. It is in Winterset Park with nearby parking. It offers great phot opportunities. This park is beautifully maintained and worth spending time at.

It seems like a miniature copy of the bridges out of town. Good photo stop but nothing truly interesting. The park and Clark tower which are accessible from here are worth seeing.

Since this is in the book, "The 1,000 Places to See Before You Die in USA and Canada," we drove down from Des Moines even though it was out of our way to go back to Minneapolis. We are glad we did. The bridges were beautiful. However, the ones on the East Coast are much better preserved. And I was surprised with all the graffiti inside:( This one was very pretty and iconic. I also liked that it was located in a beautiful city park. However, it was weird because there was a large cut out in front of the bridge from the movie, "Bridges of Madison County." Definitely cheesy! But of course we did it! If you only have time to see one, I'd do this one! It also had a bathroom.

This covered bridge is located in the city park at the one way road to Clark Tower. There is a good size parking lot not far away you can park at and get out and walk to bridge

This bridge is one of the oldest and was built in 1870 and has actually been moved from it's original location & reassembled in the City Park. All the bridges are of the same design & mostly the same builders. Nicely placed in the Park & good to see it saved for posterity.

My wife and I visited all of the remaining covered Bridges in Madison County Iowa, it was a great and historical trip. Just a few miles down a gravel, but in good shape road.

Bridge is located just steps away from the parking lot in a really nice park. There is also a hedge maze to run through and a rock arch bridge. Say this at dusk, we were happy the park was still open. Easily found.

Great one and close to town in a park and still has country lane for vehicle promenading. Nice park too.
