I visited here because I had always wanted to see a Lustron home. They had one on the property furnished with original items from family that donated the home. Very neat. There were also many older buildings. I loved this museum.

For a small town it is a great museum . Was surprised as how well it is set up . Comprised of 4 or 5 buildings . If you are staying in Great Bend a well worth the time . Very reasonably price like 4 or 5 dollars.

Need something to do for a while? Check out the museum. They have done a good job showing us the history of the area. Displays were very well done.

We visited this museum during Easter Break. We called in advance and were informed that they would be closing somewhat early. We wouldn't have found out if we hadn't called. Once there they explained a few things, and offered us to stay as long as we needed to see all the expositions and buildings. It was a wonderful discovery trip... More

The Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village is a nice place to spend a half a day. There is lots of items from mid-1800's to mid-1900's to see and learn about. This is not one of those modernistic museums with lots of plaster walls, an information plaque, and one item. This is a homey, sometimes hands-on, informational place. The... More

The museum and Village are well worth the time . I have been there a few times and I have found it to be interesting. Right in Great Bend, KS. Next to the Arkanas river and The Santa Fe Trail.

$4 entry was a deal. an incredibly diverse collection of artifacts and displays for a small town museum. Lustron house on teh grounds was very cool and unique - not something you can view just anywhere.
