The last time we came there was a guide, this time we did our own thing and went to the places we liked best. Still a lot of walking but it is worth it. We fed the fish which was fun. We really enjoyed the Monet Garden and the sculpture garden. We went on a Tuesday and surprised that Tuesday's... More

Definitely want to visit in April and May and then September and October. But it is a good place to go for a walk and enjoy nature anytime of the year.

The walking trails are nice, some paved, some not. Considering the size of the facility and ample space, they should reconsider their dog leash policy.

Our family spent 4 hours here and it was not enough time. The entire place was well kept and clean. The trails are beautiful and easy even for small children to walk. The water stations were a welcome surprise as it was warm and we hadn't brought any water. The water stations are spread throughout the arboretum. We saw deer,... More

This is a delightful arboretum. It is also well designed with cement or paved trails connecting in a loop. Those who don't want to walk too far can still see a lot without logging tons of miles. Dogs are allowed on the paved trails. With admission costs at $3 for adults, there is no reason not to come experience it.... More

In the Kansas City area take the short drive to southern Johnson County Kansas and the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. There are at least 10 dedicated garden areas to enjoy along with 5 miles of walking trails and a beautiful sculpture garden. The arboretum and gardens cover more than 300 acres and provide a serene location. If you... More
