A lovely sunny day added to the visit without doubt, the mist lifted as the sun beat down and gave us a wonderful 'reveal' of the beautiful vineyard infront of us! Started off with a glass of chilled white wine whilst picking and eating the...More

As others mentioned, you're told in advance that you'll be meeting the Portuguese "Mr. Bean". He does look like him and his humor is very quirky; whether you like it or not, he's a very cordial host. He's very proud of his estate and one...More

The staff members of the Quinta are to my opinion the stars of this visit. Lovely, kind, motivated and professional. We adored spending time with each one of them. There were always sharp on time to pick us up and had a lot of knowledge....More

The Quinta is worth the extra effort to get there. The family is now seven generations into wine and port production. The owner is delightful and enthusiastic about his Quinta. They accommodate groups and events. The lunch was a lovely array of Portuguese food.

Following a very interesting tour of the co-operative wine making facilities (Mateus), we were served a five course traditional meal that was excellent. The vineyard’s host was very entertaining! They finished with a taste of grappa. (Please check my spelling. )

Visited as part of a VJV Douro river cruise. Lovely location (but up a long winding road), and fantastically welcoming staff. Wine and nibbles to start, then a tour of the wine making barns. Dinner of "traditional" Portuguese food was ok, but not up to...More
