One of the Wonders of Kansas, this is apparently a must-see stop in this part of the state. It is indeed a very large church. It is strangely located in a tiny village in the middle of Kansas. But beyond that ... Not sure I...More

I drive I-70 across Kansas often and try to make an effort to see/do something new. This time around, I visited St. Fidelis Church. This church can be seen from a distance given the surrounding area is so flat and it is not far from...More

What a special find in a small town in Kansas. Reminds me of the beauty I’ve seen in Europe more than in the States. Glad to see it not only preserved but still in use. Doors were unlocked and got a sneak peak inside and...More

I'm amazed that a church like this exists in a small town in Kansas! It's so beautiful inside that I was awestruck. There is marble, granite, and wood from Austria. The numerous stained glass windows are colorful and well preserved. There is so much to...More

This church is also called the "Cathedral of the Plains". It's a truely massive, and beautiful, church only a couple miles off of I-70 near Hays. There is no "tour" or much in the way of tourist development. However, it is a functioning church still...More

We stop by to pray every time we drive by! Very inspirational! Beautiful! One of the eight wonders of Kansas!

It is well worth taking about 30 minutes off of your I70 trip to go south off the highway and visit this church. It takes about 5 minutes down the road and then you are there able to view a beautiful church and take photos.

We recently visited this Cathedral for a wedding. It is a towering structure in the small Kansas town and contains beautiful stained glass. It is worth a quick visit when you are in the Hays, Kansas area.

Who would build a church that seats 1200 over 100 years ago in a town that is only 1200 in population today??? The Germans that settled Victoria did, and it is impressive! We attended Mass here and the sound of the piano and singers in...More
