I'm amazed that a church like this exists in a small town in Kansas! It's so beautiful inside that I was awestruck. There is marble, granite, and wood from Austria. The numerous stained glass windows are colorful and well preserved. There is so much to...More

This church is also called the "Cathedral of the Plains". It's a truely massive, and beautiful, church only a couple miles off of I-70 near Hays. There is no "tour" or much in the way of tourist development. However, it is a functioning church still...More

We stop by to pray every time we drive by! Very inspirational! Beautiful! One of the eight wonders of Kansas!

It is well worth taking about 30 minutes off of your I70 trip to go south off the highway and visit this church. It takes about 5 minutes down the road and then you are there able to view a beautiful church and take photos.

We recently visited this Cathedral for a wedding. It is a towering structure in the small Kansas town and contains beautiful stained glass. It is worth a quick visit when you are in the Hays, Kansas area.

We were forced to return home via a northern route because of the Harvey hurricane and ended up on I-70. The Basilica of St Fidelis, known as the Cathedral of the Plains, offered a break from the acres of sunflowers stretching across the plains. The...More

Don't take another trip on I-70 without stopping here! We wanted to take photos of the structure, but when we went inside - we were blown away! How could a little town like Victoria on the plains of Kansas support such a wonderful cathedral?! The...More
