This small beautiful little park (along the river walkway) brought back very sad memories in a respectful and very lovely way. The moments I spent there truly were precious to me as a Vietnam veteran... Thank you to the Vietnamese community and others that made it possible. It said "Welcome home!"

Peaceful walking trail next to river. Monuments & Memorials unfortunately for all the wars and conflicts. Very well done and cared for. History of the United States flag also appreciated.

We brought my step-father here who is a veteran and he loved it! We all agreed this was one of the nicest veterans memorials we had ever seen. They had a little bit of everything for the history buff and veterans alike. Very well kept and well put together. It is right along a river so it is a beautiful walk as well. Hats off to those who designed the memorials. They were amazing! A must see for any veterans or history buffs who visit Wichita.

We have been to Veteran parks all across the US and we found this one to be one of the best with each major war having its own display area. You should plan at least 2 hours to take in all the displays in this hugh part. Be prepared to do a lot of waliing, but it is well worth the time taken.

Veterans Memorial Park is located on one bank of the Arkansas River near the Keeper of the Plains monument. I came across this park while riding bike on the trail next to the river. Being on the bank of the river, the memorial is spread out linearly. But, all the war memorials have a nice connected walking path. I did not find any specific sign that indicated an entrance to the park. This is a nice place to remember all the servicemen who have sacrificed for the nation in the course of so many wars.

Out of the way a bit but for history buff it's a nice place to go to reflect. It's close to the river and the Keeper.

This park is made up of different monuments covering differing periods of war for our country. It has an area for WWII, Different services, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, The Vietnam area has a wall with names of those locally who served and died. This was my war and the names are made up of several I knew well. When I served in Washington, DC area, the wall was not done there and I still feel the chill of death when I go to DC or to our monument in Wichita. There was a controversy when some of the Vietnamese wanted to place their monuments in the area of the American troops honor place and it was later solved by the refugees from S. Vietnam having their own monument. I never was able to understand this controversy since we all were trying to remember the same people.

This is a unique veteran park in that it covers all of the wars. Plus so many of the memorials were planned and paid for by relatives involved in the war and it definitely shows their personal touch.

Bronze statues highlight this memorial. The details are exacting even down to the equipment they carry. As a veteran, I felt this was a very well done memorial.

My son and I went for a walk along the riverfront. We took some time to stop at this memorial. We appreciate opportunities to think of those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.

There is parking around, I didn't have any problem finding a space. Would not recommend big RV or trailer in tow going there though, as it is around multiple buildings etc. I didn't see a specific lot for the park.
