We had to take a break on a looooong drive from Nashville to Columbus, Ohio. Pulled off the highways when we saw the signs and took a couple mile drive back through some beautiful country. We know *nothing* about bourbon but decided to stop in and kick around. The science behind this “simple” process is fascinating. It’s incredible how huge the Heaven Hill operation is! Those huge white Rick buildings stretch long across the countryside. If we had more time we’d have taken the tour. The people were great fun to talk too!!!! We bought a few bottles and a box of the Chocolate Bourbon Balls (orgasmic!). When we got home we were a little surprised to find one of our bottles cost $4 less at the local Kroger. Oh Well, those Rick buildings don’t grow on trees! Loved the visit. Great people. Booze is expensive (look at the price of some of the shots!).

Of the three distilleries we visited, this was our favorite. Our tasting guide was relaxed, conversational. He hit all the points in the book but he also talked with our group and not just at our group. He clearly knows and likes his product. Everyone left happy.

The Bottle and Bonded tour was awesome. The history behind everything and the education in the barrels was fascinating. Susan, our guide, knows her history and you could tell she has a passion for Bourbon. The staff was friendly and the gift shop had so much to choose from. Great experience

Such a fun and memorable experience! We did the “You do Bourbon” experience and it was awesome. At the end we were able To bottle and purchase our very own distillery exclusive whiskeys. We also got there early enough to purchase an 8yr Old Fitz. It was a GREAT day and we highly recommend. Before our experience we grabbed a couple of delicious cocktails and pours at the bar as well.

Heaven Hill was very enjoyable. There was a lot of information regarding the history and past of the Heaven Hill Distillers. We also did the Mashbill tour and had a great experience with the tour. Our guide Rebecca was amazing and made the tour very enjoyable. The Five Brothers Bar upstairs was a great area to relax and unwind after the tour. The bartenders were very friendly and helped make it a great afternoon!

You Do Bourbon was the best way to end our Bourbon Trail Trip. Herb was fantastic. Knowledgable, funny, personable. The selections we sampled were so good. I bottled the Elijah Craig, my husband chose Larceny. The museum is worth a walk through too. Very well done.

The tour was interesting. We learned the proper way to taste bourbon. We were also able to fill and label our own bottle to take with us. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it would have been nice to tour a bit of the distillery in addition to the tasting.

I enjoyed most of this experience, except for having to wait in line to enter the visitor's center. Everyone else was in line for a special bourbon release. I was there for a tasting. The special release should have a separate line. Aside from that, it was a great experience. The tasting was wonderful. You can easily spend over $200 in the visitor's center. I know I did.
