The roads leading to this lake are crazy. However, if you are looking for isolation and peace and quiet this would be the place for you. There’s a couple boat ramps, swimming area, kids play area, mini golf, and at least two picnic shelters.

We drove up to the lake/dam area after visiting a relatives grave. We had two small children with us ages 3&9 they absolutely loved the playground area below the dam. We will continue to visit everytime we are in town.

Beautiful view when it's cleaned up after spring no cell reception though, lodge is pricey so don't eat there but worth the drive

I just love this place, the view the calmness. Family centered place. My church has worship every year. Bring your chair and a book or fishing pole. The parade of boats is exciting too.

The top of the dam was beautiful! We talked to the people in the office, and they were so nice! They gave us a lot of information about the region, which was great because we weren't locals. They had recommendations about the nearby campground, but...More

it is amazing to visit a place like Buckhorn Lake. I was with my husband and we enjoyed riding through a boat in the lake and watched beautiful houses around the lake.
