We had rented a pontoon boat last year, but we were rained out so we had until this weekend to use it or lose it. The original price was $265 per day with tax included. We used our rain check for Saturday but when I had called ahead asking what the cost would be for Sunday we were told that it would be $465 that was not including taxes. They said that their phone was ringing off the hook and it was a point supply and demand. We declined that offer and only used the pontoon boat on Saturday.
First off the walk from the parking lot to getting to the boat is very far, they do have a shuttle thank goodness. We staff outside was very nice but the women that they have working inside are just plain rude. We wanted to tie off so we could swim and have some lunch but they don't provide any rope or anchor on the boat, very unhappy about that, they also have a $200 charge if you are late after 5:00 pm and another $200 per hour after that. Don't waste your money on the marina.

Please DON’T go to Burnside marina! I never leave bad reviews but this time I had to. We were new to the area. Long story short, we rented a tube only from Burnside prior to our trip because we were planning to take our boat. Then, at the last minute we decided not to take our boat and to rent one instead. Burnside was already closed for the day so we rented from another marina. We were told that the tube, which we rented for 30.00 for the day, needed to be returned by 5p. Lake Cumberland is a huge lake and it takes about 90-120 minutes to get from one side to the other by water. We headed back to the marina to drop off the tube at 3p to give us plenty of time. 45 minutes later we realized we had gone the wrong way and were at the other side of the lake. We had never been to this area before and got turned around. We called Burnside immediately and explained what happened and that we were trying to get the tube back as soon as possible but we may be a half hour late. The very rude woman who answered stated that we would be charged 200.00 if the tube wasn’t there by 5p! No matter what we said or how we tried to explain that it was an innocent mistake, she continued to state that we would be charged 200.00 and that we would be charged an additional 200.00 for every hour after that even though they closed at 5:30! Even though we did everything we could to get that tube back, Burnside charged us 200.00 for a tube that cost 30.00 to rent for the day. PLEASE don’t rent from them! We don’t want anyone else’s vacation ruined by Burnside!

This is a really nice mid-size marina. Brooke is great to work with as are all of the gas guys. They do a reasonable job of maintenance on the dock and facilities. For the money as far as I'm concerned it's the best marina on Lake Cumberland.

I have docked my boat for nearly two years at Burnside. I am new to the lake even though I am local. Honestly, I only chose Burnside because of its close proximity to my home. Now, I am somewhat more knowledgeable about the lake and the marinas and I am so glad I am at Burnside. Some of the other marinas seem to have an environment you would not want your children in. I have never witnessed anything or anyone I would not want my daughter to see. Plus, I think it has the best location by far.

I held an employee TEAM building training exercise on a houseboat rented from Safe Harbor at Burnside Marina. For me the entire experience was a success because of Juanita. AKA (Nita). Last year when I contemplated this experience she (Nita) took it upon herself to show me around the marina, gave me a tour of a boat her team was preparing for a turnaround rental and was friendly and professional. This year at the pickup she again right there, right on. As a matter of fact she called the moment the boat was ready for an early pickup if I wanted. The next day she arranged to deliver lunch supplies that I needed for my group and acted like this above and beyond customer service was the norm for Burnside. The support of the staff as I returned the boat was very good. I was apprehensive about this type venue for a meeting, but because things went so smoothly I am considering it again for next year's semi-annual conference.

This place has a free boat ramp which is nice. It worked fine for our boat. We paid to park the boat along the walk way and that worked okay. I am surprised over the years they haven't built a better store with more food options than what they have. I feel like they are missing some opportunities for more business.

You can't go wrong with it though and I am glad it's there.

We have been going to Burnside for vacation for several years. This year (2017) we called to rent a boat slip but was told nothing was available. Lady said she'd have somebodycall us back to see if there was anything they could do. No call. I called back 3 times, nothing. I explained it put us in a predicament. They won't let you reserve a slip but a day or two before you need it. We were already at the lake, the house we rented for the week is not conducive to our boat. The driveway too narrow and WAY to steep for the size of our boat. So now we were stuck with a boat we couldn't take to the rental and NO slip. Finally on my 4th call to Burnside marina, I talked to a lady who said we don't recognize your name so we can't rent a spot to you. We've dealt with Dick for 9 years....never a problem. But this year, no luck. After I told her we've been renting from burnside for 9 years every fall, she said let me see what I can do and I'll call back. But for us to know, shed charge $50 a night. We never heard another word back from her. We didn't even bother to call back. Took our boat to conley bottom. MUCH cleaner marina, staff very friendly and they charged me $20 ($120 weekly) a night for a covered slip with water and electricas opposed to $50 ($350 weekly) at Burnside. They have officially lost a customer and by the looks of their marina, they can't afford to lose any business. We won't go back

My family has had a place near here since the 40s. Burnside marina has come a long way over the past several years.

If you rent a slip here, there are heavy duty carts to move your stuff as well as bathrooms in the private slip area. There's a shuttle that will run a driver to and from the parking area. There's a on water gas station with a small general store and snack shop.

The marina handles boat and jet ski rentals. And you can launch from here, however it's a single launch at a time. If you want or need a larger launch/turn a round area use the launch at General Burnside Island State park. It's just around the bend from the marina.

We rented a Tritoon (which was brand new) and a Waverunner. We had an amazing day on the lake and it was the highlight of our vacation. We were able to pull a tub behind the Tritoon however you'll have to bring your own rope and tube. The rentals are a bit pricey but it was worth it.

What a great way to enjoy a relaxing day on a pontoon boat on Lake Cumberland. Burnside Marina is just a few blocks down form 7 Gables Motel. Get a good night's sleep at 7 Gables and then go on down to Burnside Marina where your pontoon will be waiting for you. They also have houseboats, but I have never rented one. They look fun as well.
