Maybe not the BIGGEST gift shop in Kentucky, as it claims, but there was certainly a lot to choose from. Perhaps the most fun thing to do is to choose your own uncut geode. They cut it for you there, price included. It's cheap ($10...More

Very definitely staff. We enjoyed looking at the fossils, gems and assorted jewelry in the gem shop. It was a fun diversion in the area and a great place for gifts to bring back for family and friends.

This place took me back to the tourist shops along the roadways when my parents would take us on Road Trip vacations in the summer. We had a great time looking at all the different rocks and geodes. We had so much fun wandering the...More

I've never been at a rock shop that sells glass, but this one does. Fenton Glass's leftover batch glass is sold here, and it's clearly recognizable by its signature colors. Great for signature coffee table conversation pieces. There are cave rocks, fossils, even gems in...More

Great place to buy your tourist items. The staff was friendly and helpful. A very big variety with good prices for a tourist town. Check the hours before you head out-the late fall ours are limited.

We think they would not mind the "tourist trap" comment as it appears they know what they are...even embrace it. Our daughter collects rocks, so this was an interesting place for us to visit. If you are in the market for some unique rocks (not...More

This place is a classic roadside attraction. The Mystery House portion was a bit lacking, but the gravity room part was fun. The rock shops had high prices but some things were more reasonable. It is pretty cool if you want the feel of the...More

Big Mike's is mainly a rock and souvenir shop. The mystery house in the back is an old-school roadside attraction like you would find all over the USA in the 60's and 70's. For two bucks a person (check rest areas for discount coupons) I...More

Please do your research on geodes before buying from big Mike's rock shop by going to Tom's tee pee and listening and learning how to identify a quality geode and a fair price. Please save yourself from emptying your wallet for this outfit.
