We visited this cemetery to see the burial place of Daniel Boone. Had no idea it would be this beautiful. We had a perfect day to explore the cemetery. It is so picturesque in the spring. We enjoyed strolling around and observing the natural beauty there. The burial site of Daniel Boone overlooking the valley and Kentucky River was quite... More

Turns out this was very interesting because it had an interesting view and I did not know that there were so many people buried there.

It's odd to give a cemetery any type of rating, but my 5 star is based off the view from the location and the historic value. It has a beautiful view of the Ky River, with rolling hills and tons of old trees leading up to the "Mound" with the State War Memorial. We have visited many times to look... More

The view from Daniel Boone gravesite is gorgeous. Huge cemetery but extremely easy to drive thru, park, & walk to sites.

We went to the Frankfort Cememtery to see the grave of Daniel Boone. It was very impressive. What was even more grand, was looking across the way, over the river, and seeing the State Capital Building. Everything in Frankfort leads you back to the Capital, so it is not difficult to find your way around with a local map. The... More

Several Kentucky notables are buried here including 7 Kentucky Governors, Paul Sawyer, Daniel and Rebecca Boone among others. Beautiful ground over looking the Capitol building, the Kentucky River, and Downtown Frankfort. History lovers will love it!

The cemetery is well worth the visit. The grave of Daniel Boone is awesome and has a wonderful view of Frankfort and the state capital building. We went to the veterans memorial and the Kentucky memorial for the unborn as well. All were beautiful. We drove up to the graves but you can also walk. It took us about 30... More

I feel very lucky to have discovered this and it ended up being one of my favorite stops on this particular road trip. The view from the Boone's gravesite is something else, so peaceful. Absolutely not to be missed if you are anywhere in the area or passing through.

Had to visit my husbands childhood Herod gravesite...Daniel Boone. He and his wife, Rebecca rest upon a bluff overlooking the river and capital building. It is beautiful even in the winter. So much history here...love to look at old tombstones and names. There are some incredible tombstones. Grab a coffee and drive around...it's very peaceful.
