The Singletary Center is a wonderful venue to watch and hear a great concert. It's very quaint, yet large enough to accommodate several thousand.

The Singletary Center is a nice place on the University of Kentucky's campus to catch a play or concert.

Part of the University of Kentucky - this midsized concert hall hosts various performances throughout the year, some have been extraordinary. Check the website or newspapers for the current offerings.

I've not taken in a play there, but, it is a nice venue. My kids have had several large scale meetings there including when my oldest was there for Governors Scholars.
