After living in Louisville for over 9 years, I finally made it to the KY Derby Museum. Other than attending yearly Derby parties, I've had little connection to the horse racing world. I couldn't fathom what would be the draw of this place. When family came to visit, we decided to go. We loved it! I would heartily encourage anyone... More

I'm from Massachusetts. Seen the Kentucky Derby on TV many years. So excited to actually be there!!!! So enjoyed seeing all the hats on display, and many items from past famous races, horses and jockeys. Went on a tour out to the stables and the grounds. We didn't have to spend all day there; just long enough to see everything,... More

This is a great museum. It has lots of stuff to look at and lots to read. A movie (about 15 minutes) shows every hour and I would definitely recommend being there for the movie. You can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours in the museum depending on how much time you spend watching and reading things. It... More

We've lived in Louisville since 1991 and several times brought friends and relatives to the KY Derby Museum. Displays change from time to time, so it's never been boring for us, as local yokels. If visiting during times when races are running at the track, this can be a really nice way to spend an afternoon - - museum and... More

I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun this was for kids. I was accompanied by a nine-year-old neighbor who'd been there several times before; despite that, he had a great time. The museum is far from "Museum Row" on Main Street, but it's well worth the cab or car ride there. This is a fully interactive museum with a... More

Our out of town guest thoroughly enjoyed visiting the museum. It gave them a better understanding of how the Kentucky Derby is one of the best events in sports.

We visited on a dreary January afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was very enthusiastic and welcoming. A good way to spend a few hours to get to know the Derby. A great place if you are already a fan or a horse lover. Reasonably priced. Very well organized, clean, informative. They have what appeared to be... More

This museum is amazing. I have lived in Louisville Ky for almost 20yrs and this was the first time going. I wish I hadn't waited so long. The history that is behind Churchill Down, Louisville and horse racing in general is all here. Highly recommended if you are passing thru our wonderful city.

I was vacationing with some friends and we decided to visit the museum. Not something I would have decided to do ........ but I'm so glad I went. Very good experience. Museum takes you through the history of the Kentucky Derby, along with interactive betting, simulated riding, and movie. We took the tour that allowed you inside of Churchill Downs... More

Enjoyable and reasonable tour in Louisville. I would recommend about an hour to 2 hours for the total experience. Great for adults and kids with interactive exhibits for all... Really a good thing to try in the heart of horse racing country!
