The museum is a great place to spend a couple of hours, just walking around and engulfing yourself in horse racing history. From Man-O-War, to Secretariat, to American Pharoah. This is a must do if you are in the Louisville area.

Tour guide for a 30-minute tour outside was excellent. Movie was enjoyable. Weather was cold outside, in the off-season, so not much to see. Lots of construction going on. Lunch area was closed.

We enjoyed the museum and walking tour. We choose the hour and half longer tour that included millonare row. Very interesting. Parking in under construction and you have to ride a shuttel. Directions with map online. Runs all day and was easy to ride.

This is a must see for anyone visiting Louisville. The grounds are great, the museum interactive, the opening film a wonderful introduction to the Derby experience. We enjoyed the tour of the grounds that took us to the stables and training areas.

The Museum is very casual! If you join in the historic walking tour (included with general admission) or add on one of our additional tours there is a lot of walking--and much of it on cobblestone/paver areas of the... More

Check the website. The museum is open year round but the horse races don't start until April 1st.
