Grew up in the southside of Louisville...and just recently re-visited the area. Lots has changed, but Iroquois Park always a favorite! Beautiful park, with golf, horseback riding, outdoor festivals, amphitheatre, cycling/running access and breath-taking views of the city from the overlook.

I grew up in this area and remember when the tornado went through taking out several of the oldest, largest trees. The park improvements since my last visit make the park even more beautiful.

This is one of the city's signature Olmsted parks. Its features were planned by the Frederick Law Olmsted firm. The forest is described as the 10,000 year old forest. I am not sure of the origin of this forest description. It seems to me the...More

Attended a concert with daughter as her birthday present. Establishment was clean, event staff were helpful, and it was a well organized event. Definitely will attend additional events hosted here.

I run here frequently with my dog since there is a nice loop and little traffic. It's beautiful and quiet during the week.

If I'm going to Iroquois Park for an event, would it be better to stay in a hotel by the airport or downtown? Any recommendations?

personally i like the air port hotels better, they are closer to the park, and are newer, and have moor space for parking. downtown traffic can be hectic, with one way streets.
