The Louisville Zoo is awesome, they always have things going on and interesting background stories to individualize the animals that live there. Note: their Halloween Trick or Treat Event is also awesome - a one way walk through the Zoo, different areas themed and staffed...More

We went to the zoo in hopes of seeing the polar bears and penguins. We found out after our arrival that they sway the days out (black bears/ polar bears). Disappointed. Just happy that they had giraffes.

Due to Halloween activities closing early. Only had 3 hours to visit— this was plenty of time. Most interesting- the feeling the apes.

This zoo is ok but definitely not the best I've ever visited. I felt sorry for the animals. The orangutans didn't look like they really had enough room to move around. I felt the same way about many of the large fish and the crocodiles....More

We try to visit the local zoo on each place we visit. Today’s visit at the Louisville Zoo was a great experience. We were able to see many new animals that we haven’t seen at other zoos. This was a great half day experience.

This was not my favorite zoo (which is maybe the Bronx Zoo or St. Louis) but I felt most of the animals seemed content and well-cared for. Enclosures are occasionally large enough that it might be difficult to see the animals (the one enclosure that...More

Animals seemed well taken care of . Park is under construction this caused a lot of confusion. The few places to eat where overcrowded even with low attendance. The staff was not working to make it any better just standing around on their phones. The...More

No, I have not done the Pygmy Hippo experience. I think under the right circumstances with the right people it would be an interesting experience.

There are several nice hotels to choose from. I personally prefer the east end hotels. You may have to drive a little further but I think you will enjoy your stay. I would not choose a downtown hotel. They are older and... More
