Short but informative tour and tasting
We had a limited amount of time for touring on this trip so this one-hour tour was perfect. It included a short film, an engaging and informative tour guide, and a fun tasting experience. When you don't have time to see a large distillery, this one is perfect!

First Stop for Bourbon Tour - Very Well Done! Great Guide
We really enjoyed this experience / tour. It is really well done ! Very Educational on the History Aspect and then Bourbon tasting. Since EW held the first official distillery we figured it was the Best to start the tour there and it was the right decision for sure ! Our guide was Great ! (Don’t remember name) older Gentleman that was very funny and had the best Louisville pronunciation! We really enjoyed the Red Label and did end up buying the bottle since it can ONLY be bought by guests that took the tour. It’s a Great Souvenir form a Great Experience ! Great Job EW!

    Great experience!
We had a great time at Evan Williams! It was a fun tour that followed by a nice tasting of pours you cannot purchase anywhere else. I thought their selection of tasting pours was a nice touch, things you generally cannot purchase outside of the distillery was a nice touch. A bit gimmicky for sure, but overall a great experiences

    Stop over in Louisville
Dianne was so nice to let us join the last tour a few minutes late. Sarah was our guide. She was great. Her enthusiasm was contagious. Loved her extensive knowledge on bourbon and the Evan Williams brand. Glad we made the stop.

I’m not a bourbon fan and this was still really fun!
I’m not a bourbon fan and this was still really fun! I enjoyed learning the history of the city’s staple spirit. It was interactive and our guide was a pleasure. This was well worth the ticket price and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I spilled some of the tasting and they were so gracious and kind about it. The giant bourbon glass in front is fun, as are the people working the front desk.

    Great Tour Experience
Went to the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience over my spring break on a trip to Louisville. We really enjoyed the experience, and had a great tour guide (Bill). I thought the tour did a good job of incorporating some of the history of Louisville as well as where Evan Williams fit in the bourbon industry. Great experience, worth the time and money.

Ideal Bartender is a great introduction tour.
We did the Ideal Bartender Experience. This was our first tour upon arriving in Kentucky. Highly recommend this tour as a great introduction to the history of bourbon. Great sample selection, learnt how to make an original Old Fashioned, very informative and entertaining.

Start your Bourbon Trail visit here at Evan Williams.
One of the Trip advisor reviews I read said to be sure to include Evan Williams on your trip and I would agree. While each distillery has their own way of showing you their distillery, the Evan Williams tour focuses on the history of bourbon distilling in Kentucky and it's impact on the area. The tour is literally a walk through history with interesting vignettes that you visit along the way. It was the most informative tour of our visit and a great place to start if you are going to do the bourbon trail. The bourbon was also very good.

A great place to start your Bourbon Trail tour
A great place to start your Bourbon Trail tour. We loved learning about the history of Bourbon before jumping into the distillation process. Each of the rooms and videos gave a great feel for the history of bourbon. The guides discussion about the history and distillation process gave us a great foundation for the rest of our tours.

    Great Tour of Evan Williams!
I reserved the standard tour on 2/28/24 for Thurby, 5/2 at 2 pm. We were fortunate to get Bob as our guide/docent. He was knowledgeable and very funny (please tip him as he deserves it!). We feel much more informed about America’s bourbon industry and Evan Williams’s part in it. The post-tour tasting was good, too, and made an Evan Williams believer out of my husband. He returned home with a bottle of smooth Square S High-Rye that is only available at the Evan Williams Experience.

We did the speakeasy tasting. Was definitely the most unique of the tastings we did. Was pretty cool, having to give the password to get in and everything in the speakeasy was done like the time period and the guide dressed and acted the part. Very entertaining.

My sister and I were in town for the Derby, and visited Evans Williams on W. Main for a tour and tasting on Tuesday 4/30/24. After the 3 employees in the lobby gave us a cool, very lackluster Welcome and explanation of what the $20 tour consisted of, we instead went to the 3rd floor bar to simply have a drink. The two employees at the 3rd floor bar gave us an equally lackluster Welcome and seemed burdened by our drink order. Evan Williams management ; the staff on W. Main St. need some training on how to Welcome paying guests and be appreciative they are there.
