The Frazier History Museum is a world-class museum that provides an unforgettable journey through history with ever-changing and interactive exhibits, daily performances by costumed interpreters and engaging special events and programs. To complement our amazing permanent collection, which includes thousands of items from famous world leaders and one of the country's largest toy soldier displays, the Frazier Museum offers an ever-changing selection of intriguing temporary exhibits. Every day, we offer live historic performances, bringing visitors face to face with some of the people and events that changed the world forever, as well as with average people whose moving and important stories you've probably never heard. The Frazier Museum is located on downtown Louisville's "Museum Row" in a beautiful 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility originally called the "Doerhoefer Building," a late 19th century, Chicago-style commercial structure. The Frazier Museum has three floors of exhibits, an education center, Museum Store and tournament ring, as well as event spaces available for rent, including a beautiful Rooftop Garden featuring seasonal blooming flowers and our Fourth Floor Loft space that accommodates up to 360 people seated.

Prohibition And More

We went for the Prohibition exhibit and toured the whole museum. A good overview of prohibition and Kentucky history. Takes about 2 1/2 hours to see everything.

Not a big museum but beautifully organised and some great little touches like being told "start at the top (it's three floors) and work your way down". Logical really. My favourite bit, the section on prohibition! Superbly explained and illustrated with a nice balance between the act and its repeal, the impact on society and what the average joe drinks... More

This place had been on our list of places to visit since we moved here. The prohibition exhibit is amazing as is the Pearl Harbor exhibit.

Looking for something to do on a rainy Sunday decide to visit muesum. Came from Seymour IN, so took the 31 road bridge to not pay that dang toll on new bridge! Parking $6, admission $10 for an adult. Small muesum, very nice and newer looking exhibits on 2 floors. Best exhibit is the Prohibition Kentucky followed by Personal Stories... More

So I had purchased a pass off Groupon for my husband and son. They didn't use it so I decided to take my daughter while we were in town. I was pleasantly surprised. It is not a huge museum but it has a lot of content. We were in there for about 2 hours. We definitely could have stayed longer.... More

The Frazier History Museum is such a treasure in downtown Louisville. The museum has a great permanent collection but they also have some very unique and interesting events. During the summer they have a wonderful Sunday brunch up on the roof top overlooking the city which is really a hidden treasure. During the brunch local products are showcased along with... More

We spent three hours there. I was fascinated by the toy soldiers. The prohibition exhibit, the Lewis and Clark exhibit and the White Christmas were also really interesting. My wife really enjoyed the Kentucky by Design exhibit. They also have a great gift shop.

Unexpectedly great experience. The toy soldier collection alone is worth the price of admission. Other exhibits on Prohibition, the attack on Pearl Harbor, Jesse James, etc, were well done and simultaneously entertaining and educational. We stopped in on a whim and stayed 2 hours.

From White Christmas to Pearl Harbor to Prohibition and toy soldiers, this museum is expertly done. Our family visit during the holidays was fun and fascinating for ages 6-64. The exhibits are very well done and offer a variety of experiential opportunities. This has jumped to #1 in top attractions to visit with out of town guests since their exhibits... More
