The Frazier History Museum is a world-class museum that provides an unforgettable journey through history with ever-changing and interactive exhibits, daily performances by costumed interpreters and engaging special events and programs. To complement our amazing permanent collection, which includes thousands of items from famous world leaders and one of the country's largest toy soldier displays, the Frazier Museum offers an ever-changing selection of intriguing temporary exhibits. Every day, we offer live historic performances, bringing visitors face to face with some of the people and events that changed the world forever, as well as with average people whose moving and important stories you've probably never heard. The Frazier Museum is located on downtown Louisville's "Museum Row" in a beautiful 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility originally called the "Doerhoefer Building," a late 19th century, Chicago-style commercial structure. The Frazier Museum has three floors of exhibits, an education center, Museum Store and tournament ring, as well as event spaces available for rent, including a beautiful Rooftop Garden featuring seasonal blooming flowers and our Fourth Floor Loft space that accommodates up to 360 people seated.

At first I was hesitant because I thought the entire museum was just one floor. Thankfully I was wrong. Third floor: Prohibition and Lewis/Clark Experience. Second floor: Survey of early American history from European colonialism to post-Civil War and the Wild West. First floor: Merton exhibit. Of all of these, the third floor was my favorite. The Prohibition exhibit was... More

The museum is fantastic. We enjoyed the live portrayal if Annie Oakley. All the exhibits were extremely interesting. Add this to your list of "things to see in Louisville"....if you enjoy history.

If you're a history buff the Frazier would be a good choice when you're in Louisville. The prices are fair and they offer descent exhibits. At times they run special exhibitions so check with the facility before going because it could affect the prices and the crowd level . The building is beautiful and in an awesome location ~

This place is fabulous! The exhibits were well designed and educational. We enjoyed a live portrayal of Annie Oakley, the Thomas Merton exhibit, the Lewis and Clark Expedition (fantastic and hands-on), as well, as the Prohibition exhibit, which was great. We had to rush through the last part of our tour, due to time constraints, but it was interesting (outlaws,... More

Enjoyable for kids and adults. We were able to experience the Lewis & Clark and the Prohibition exhibits. Both were extremely interesting and the firearms were very cool. Highly recommend if you have a couple of hours, that should work.

Well done, enjoyed the Prohibition and the Thomas Merton exhibits especially. Lewis & Clarke exhibit was well done as well. Interactive activities as well, great for kids. While I'm not one for weapons, their very extensive exhibits are interesting I'm sure to those who enjoy their history.

My wife and I make wedding cakes and have set them up at the Frazier Museum several times. Each time, the area for the reception was classy and very elegant! We always love to go there because it's in a class all by itself! Also, the coordinators are some of the best in the business. Top notch!

We didn't have this museum on our list, but it was across from the Louisville Slugger Museum so we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did! They had some very interesting exhibits. The Lewis & Clark Experience was so informative and had several hands on elements. We had 3 teenagers and they actually enjoyed the museum as well.... More

We chose this Museum because of the large firearm collection and walked away learning so much more! Or teenage son has a great working knowledge of firearms and this Museum did not disappoint! He was in heaven looking at case after case of firearms and ammunition. It was wonderful to see him enjoy something so much! What I wasn't prepared... More
