I have been visiting The Parklands since the project first began and watched the development. It is head and shoulders above our metro park system, although the Olmstead legacy parks are nice too. The restroom facilities are very well maintained and the park is staffed...More

This chain of continuos parks is a great place to spend some recreational time. We have paddled Floyd's Fork in Kayaks and a canoe. We have enjoyed riding bikes between all of these parks, and our dog has enjoyed the large enclosed dog park where...More

The Parklands were the highlight of our visit to Louisville, we went three times in the three days we were there. Admittedly we had a Friend of the Parklands as a host and guide so we got to see the best bits on each of...More

Went last week (8/30/18) and loved the ride all over again... Some parts of this string of parks are hilly, but if you start at Pope's Lick and aim towards Turkey Run - you will have a good 5-6 miles of relatively flat riding. (ten-11...More

We went to this park seeking a place to walk. What a pleasant surprise. There was plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, and wide paved paths. This is perhaps the cleanest and best maintained paved walking park I’ve ever been to. Much of the walking path...More

We walk in this park almost everyday. And almost everyday we see something new. There is plenty of wildlife to check out. Most of the time you will happen along someone else on the paths, but occassionally we have the park all to ourselves. Such...More

The one at Taylorsville Road and Pope Lick is all flat, you can bike straight through to the connecting park (Turkey Run).

If you can carry it, you can launch it. They have several places to put in. I believe the web site has a button to check the water flow rates. I wouldn't do it with the water too high.
