Wonderful half day trip when coupled with the coal miners museum just a mile or 2 up the road. Everyone needs to experience what others have done to provide the rest of us with electricity. Their sacrifices !!!!

This area is very easy to drive to and beautiful to visit. We both enjoyed this attraction very much. Excellent way to learn and experience the history of coal mining in this area. Visitors ride in a low and covered coal train and we always...More

The coal car tour through the mine was a fun ride into the operations and history of coal mining. Exhibits were animated, fun, and informative. The mine is a cool, refreshing break from the summers heat plus the narratives were creative. This is a great...More

This is a great experience. It was entertaining and educational. It was so interesting we were talking about it for days after our tour. I highly recommend traveling back in time on the mine cart ride. Bring a sweatshirt or jacket-it is chilly inside.

5 of us from our church group went today and it was a lot of fun and very interesting to learn about the life of the miners and how hard they worked. Well worth the money to take the tour.

We really enjoyed the experience and loved how they incorporated the immigrant experience and how it personalized the history of the mining industry. It was very informative about the history of coal mining as well.

I knew going in that this was more staged. It is a lot like a Disney World Exhibit, only at a real former mine. It was informative. The tour lasted about 40 minutes and did give an idea of what miners faced in the early...More
