The first thing we did, after we checked into our hotel in Newport, Kentucky, was to walk across the Purple Pedestrian Bridge (a short 2 block walk) right next to the Newport-on-the-Levee mall. We enjoyed early evening beautiful views of the Ohio River, other bridges...More

The Purple People bridge does not just connect KY and OH; it is steps from great family attractions. On the KY side, you step off the bridge into Newport on the Levee. Super fun place with shopping, dining, the famous train ride for kids, bungee...More

The day we took this walk it was 98 degrees, but we did have a nice little breeze on the bridge. Kind of neat to stand in two states at once, and of course do the usual tourist thing and take a picture. I have...More

We went to the Aquarium and then took a little walk across the bridge. It is a nice walk and the kids enjoyed being in 2 states at the same time. The views from the bridge were nice. Best of all it’s free.

Nice walk across the bridge from Newport News to Cincinnati. On Wednesday's during the summer the vendors setup on the bridge and you can listen to music and drink beer. Great way to get your exercise in for the day!

This was so great! Standing in two states at one time was pretty cool, they have little things to do along the walk, it was so beautiful! We did it at night so the city lights looked amazing!

Walked this bridge in passing while on an overnight vacation. Great view, convenient. Would like to visit again when an event is going on.

This is a great bridge to walk across, lots of activities on either side. There are also special events on this bridge sometimes. Plenty to see and do here! Plus the history of it is interesting.

Yes. Purple bridge is safest. All bridges have bike/pedestrian walk-ways. Both sides of bridges have great pathways and parks! Enjoy.
