You get to see the lower floor of the Webb home. The upstairs is closed to the public. There are several pieces and photos of the Webb family. Also on your way out of Butcher's Holler take note of the big single room yellow schoolhouse...More

First thing to do is stop at Webb's General Store. Do some shopping, and get directions tom Butcher Hollow. Our tour was given by Loretta Lynn's niece, which gave us a nice insight into the family. Relaxing way to spend an hour, and get some...More

Take a step back in time and see how folks lived in the not so distant past, and see where one of the greatest country music stars grew up. The gentleman at the Webb General Store will give you a great tour, if Herman Webb...More

Stop at Webb's store and someone will try to accommodate a tour of the house which is about a mile from the old store. $5.00 per person. It was a great Sunday road trip and worth it. The gentlemen giving the tour was very informative...More

We went there recently, the road in is narrow and winding so be prepared, we were in a really small car and met a full size truck and I did not think we were going to make it as we were on the downhill side....More

You have to follow the very detailed instructions to get to Butcher Hollow. And even then it's treacherous. You have to stop at a general store to pay admission and get let in about another mile up the road. Trouble is the store is closed....More

As a native eastern Kentuckian, Loretta Lynn is a part of my personal and cultural history. The cabin itself is not so much different from my birthplace, and that of many others I know who were born in a coal mining and farming community. When...More

Was in Paintsville to visit the Stafford House (my great-grandfather is FM Stafford) and it struck me that I have never been to see Loretta's old home. I had a somewhat good idea where the hollar was, so I headed out on my motorcycle and...More

You can drive right up to the house but some steps to get up on the porch. I think less than 5. The house is one level and small. You have to stop at Webb's store for a tour of the house and its all one level.
