Owners Neil and Rachel bought a beautiful 30 acre farm near Versailles, Kentucky in Woodford County in 1997 and began planting grapes, berries, apples, and peaches in 1998. They named the farm Wildside Farm because of the wild sunflowers and coneflowers that grew in abundance. In addition, the name fit because the farm was initially certified organic until they learned that a minimum of amount of pesticides was needed to keep the fruits healthy. They still use minimal pesticides. Each year they planted more grapes until today they have 5 acres of grapes, two acres of fruit trees and 1.5 acres of berries.Welcome to Wildside Winery your winery near Lexington Kentucky, the airport, and Keeneland racetrack! Come join us for a glass of fine wine. Let us prove to you that Kentucky can compete in wine quality. Located just south of historic Versailles, Kentucky and just minutes from Lexington, Kentucky our comfortable and charming space is the perfect to relax with others to or just escape to enjoy a glass of your favorite wine.Wildside Winery has a great selection of wine styles. We have 9 dry red wines from medium mellow to big and dry.We have dry white wines including Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc. Wildside Winery specializes in exceptional berry wines such as blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry. Our style is to have serious, undiluted, pure fruit wines. We also have a semi-sweet wine called "Sonata". It is our Riesling style wine - very fruity, smooth and a little sweet. We have two sweeter wines the fruity Niagara and the smooth and sweet Wild Rose, which is our rose' and is called for when a customer is looking for a white zinfandel or white Merlot. Neil is the wine maker at Wildside Winery and he loves making new and interesting kinds of wine. These unusual wines are often tricky to make and time consuming. They are often made in small quantities and are usually from fresh local fruit. A short list of the interesting wines are our new Bourbon barrel red wine made with Cabernet, peach mead, fresh strawberry, hard cider, and many other delicious wines. Another special wine is our Port wine. It's aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels. And last but not least, we finally made a sweet red wine that call Dangerous.Wildside Winery is very close to Keenland race track in Lexington, Kentucky. It is convenient to stop in to the winery after Keenland for a wine tasting. We are here to make your visit an enjoyable and memorable one. Enjoyed wine tasting inside then bought a bottle and sat outside on the deck overlooking farmland. There were only a handful of people there (plus one cat) so it was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly.

This is an excellent winery located in rural Kentucky - rural Kentucky equals narrow roads - and one well worth the visit to. A full wine tasting of 8 wines will cost you $6.00 per person. It is well worth the charge as the samples...More

Small family winery. Pick a table or bar stool and make your 8 selections from a list of about 20 to taste. Only $3 for the 8 tastings! Great variety and all were good. Friendly staff.
