I love the Daniel Boone Forest and spend many hours here. The forest in huge and takes up most of Kentucky. There are different parts in other counties. I would recommend calling the forest service and getting maps.

The forest covers a lot of land in south central Kentucky to the Tennessee border. There are several scenic driving tours and the famous Cumberland Falls State Park. We drove to the forest the last week in October to hopefully view some great fall colors but ended up being disappointed. Everything was brown and nothing spectacular like we have seen... More

Not sure how one can rate a National Forest, but here goes. Lots of trees, stumps, bushes, deer, wild turkey, amphibians, ferns, etc. By the way, Daniel Boone National Forest is not in Winchester, KY. It's a little more east of Winchester running north to south encompassing many hundreds of thousands of acres. One popular spot is the area around... More

Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but pictures. Unfortunately, that sentiment comes like a hundred years after this park and hasn't quite gotten filtered into the Appalachian-American community yet. Someone who's heard of this probably will have to marry into the family before they'll get it. Please do visit the park. It's beautiful and priceless. Leaver it better than you... More

Visited here after rock climbing in the morning. Nice , not very hard climb to the arch. You can even walk on top of the arch. There's a sky chair to the top as well. Not sure where to get it,I appreciated the fact that the snack bar was open even though the pool at the inn seemed deserted. Well... More

Having visited this famous tourist attraction n more than one occasion, it never ceases to amaze me how inviting the arts and craft stores are coupled with the fact that visitors are invited by the many shopkeepers involved with their own industry to interact and ask as many questions as they want.

Lovely camp ground. Beautiful fort site with historical markers. Great place to explore! There are many things to see within a short distance.

Our campsite was fantastic. It looked right over the lake and had a short trail running down to the water's edge. The lake has a nice rocky shore/bottom making it great for a swim after a long day on the road. We will be back for a longer stay next year.

We love to come here to camp and hike. Very secluded paths - often don't see another single person. Somewhat hard to navigate because the maps seem vague to me.
