The museum is a very interesting combination of architectural styles, with the modern glass museum building standing in contrast to the A. Hays Town house next to it. The house is part of the museum grounds, and you can get a feel for the architectural style of the homes. A very interesting spot on the university campus!

We went here with my parents when we visited the area in march. Beatific weather! The water feature out front was great back drop for photos. Inside the museum it was clean quiet relaxing and very nice collections. Would go again, maybe without the kids next time!

My wife and I visit museums wherever we travel in the U.S. and Europe. This is as nice a small museum as you will find anywhere. We travel to Lafayette several times each year to visit family, friends, eat wonderful food and visit this museum. If your interest is in unique art by designers and craftsperson and those artists yet... More

I guess that I can say that exhibitions were interesting but place is really small. It took me more time to got there and back downtown than actually spending there. Anyway, you can couple it with a walk through the UL Lafayette campus. The entry fee is very reasonable

Wifee and I visited this art museum, as it was recommended in AAA. I don't know where the museum parking is located though cause I pulled in right in front of this Chamber of Commerce office parking right next door and Wifee went in and the lady said we could park right there. Seems like LSU holds art classes or... More

I enjoy visiting this museum with my wife on a regular basis. Essentially, we visit every time the exhibits change. Lovely place, quiet, reflective, and never a crowd when we've visited on Saturday afternoons.

We initially went to this museum to see the work of a particular artist. Having never been there before we weren't too sure what to expect, but it really is delightful. The exhibits were well presented and organized, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the exquisite level of art that was available for viewing. It's too hot to do... More

The exhibits are always thought provoking and engaging. I love the new restoration exhibit ( but they need a donation box there for us po' folk that can create endowments). I even do my gift shopping at the gift shop. I've never seen a bad show here... I've never seen a mediocre one either ( which is even more important).... More

Located on the campus of University of Louisiana Lafayette, or USL to the locals, the Hilliard is a perfect example of what a civic minded philanthropic family can do for a community. Wonderful venue, good modern and plantation style architecture, and a rotating display of a quality permanent collection and visiting art.
