The walking trails trough the marsh and bayous are full of life. Lush green, lizards, snakes, frogs, birds and even sunbathing alligators. Beautiful walks, my favorite was the overhanging moss covered trees with water views on the side. Nice and informative visitor center exhibitions. …

This is roughly a 1.5 mile trail out and back through the low land environment to an overlook of the grasslands. Warm weather will guarantee close viewing of lots of snakes and alligators, as well as various birds, insects, and turtles. This is a raised walkway with viewing areas. Free to the public with ample parking. Its a popular route for families.…

Go here for a taste of the unspoiled natural environment of the Mississippi delta. Cedar swamps, birds, plants, animals and, yes, we saw a gator. Better in our opinion to walk the boardwalk than to be in a noisy boat with a crowd of people. The displays in the visitor center are interesting and thoughtful. Free admission.
