Hubby and I love to go to many different Catholic Churches. Love to see their buildings and like to meet new people and talk to different Priests!!

This is one of several churches we frequent on Sundays or holy days. It's nearby and is easy to access. It is not grand by any standard but offers a solemn place to honor the mother of Mary. The shrine used to be separate from the church, but with the removal of a glass wall is more inclusive. I have prayed in the shrine in the past and it offers a place to get in touch with your sense of being.

As a graduate of St. Ann School, this church will always be a special place to me. I really enjoyed my elementary school years here & I cherish the memories made with great friends & a fun class. I drop by sometimes during the week to say prayers &/or light a candle in the shrine. There is also a book of intentions in the back. Coming here brings back fond memories.

It is true that only marriages or funerals bring me to St Ann Catholic Church and National Shrine. As many times that I have visited this church for as I have said, marriages or funerals are the only things that bring me to St Ann Catholic Church and National Shrine. Although I have seen the ramp that dominates the view of the alter, the shrine has not tempted me to go have a peek over to the ramp to see just what is behind that ramp. Over all if you are not a devout catholic and/or a follower of St Ann than only come to this church for weddings, baptisms, funerals and such as a shrine it is not so much a must see or do except to pray.

Visited the Shrine, and at the rear of the main altar has a small stairwell that takes you to a mezzanine floor of Jesus' crucifix. You can also light candles and pray in the back area as well.
