My grandson and bride to be married on the edge of the pond at sunset. Most beautiful experience. The reception hall was perfect and food very delicious.

This was my second visit to Rip Van Winkle Gardens. This time I also toured the home, ate at the restaurant and walked those marvelous gardens. The home has the most beautiful furnishings and the humongous cast iron stove in kitchen must have cooked up...More

We stayed overnight in Cook's Cottage. It was quiet and peaceful. The gardens are simply amazing. The Rookery (island where birds including Roseate Spoonbills nest) was fascinating. The house tour is interesting.

Great place to eat, do a little shopping in the gift shop and see the beauty of the gardens. You can book a tour of Rip Van Winkle gardens and the Jefferson house. Beautiful view to eat under the majestic oaks.

The grounds were lovely, the house tour was interesting, and the restaurant was REALLY GOOD. Added up to a nice way to spend the day. Don't miss the video of the lake disappearing and refilling in one day.

This is a small lake on the road to the gardens that is the nesting grounds for roseate spoonbills, great egrets, and other large birds. The lake is filled with alligators that were quite aggressive towards each other, although none were interested in the tourists...More
