I'm going to go ahead and stick my foot in my mouth. I didn't think I would be impressed with an art gallery in Shreveport LA. Shame on me!! This is actually now one of my favorite places here in Shreveport. With beautiful works of...More

I had just gotten back from Europe when my husband brought me here. With offerings ranging from Lutrec linographs to Native American art, to a celebration of Alice in Wonderland, Shreveport's very own Norton Museum is a beautiful local treasure.

Amazing collection, some local art some more well-renowned. Wide range of styles/types of paintings, some small sculptures. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this large gallery.

Especially enjoy the art work of the American west, Remington bronzes in particular. Gallery is not too large to enjoy in an afternoon. I try to go to the gardens when the azaleas are in bloom, impressive. Gardens are great for children, the Gallery better...More

Spent the afternoon with some coworkers walking through the gallery. It was better than I expected - wide variety of art. Be patient, relax and learn.

The inside of the museum is very nice and has some impressive works of art, but it isn't child friendly - although they do hold mommy and me yoga some mornings and other child friendly events through the year. The best part in my opinion...More

Our recent visit to the Norton was most satisfying as we viewed the many paintings and statuary of the early West. The many Remington bronzes were fascinating and displayed Cowboys, Indians, Buffalo and Cattle in action. The paintings of life on the prairies were stunning...More

My family loves to go see the gorgeous flowers in the spring when the azaleas are blooming. The views are breathtakingly beautiful. Lots of benches to sit and listen to the water trickling over the rocks and birds chirp. Totally free to the public!

This lovely local treasure is a pleasure inside and out. I especially enjoy the Western art on display. The gardens are magnificent and a place I love to walk around all year long. Don't miss the gardens when azaleas are ablaze!

You may want to check out their Facebook site for current displays. Also, the neighborhood has been commenting on the chickens seen over there lately. RW Norton Gallery on Facebook

No photography is allowed inside or on the grounds. In years past, photographers used the beautiful grounds for backgrounds for pictures. But, some got a bit unruly, even brought a horse and buggy onto the lawn and ruined... More
