The museum was pretty but not great for kids young or old. It was free so we thought why not. We didn't expect our kids to love it but we thought we'd find a few more things they'd like to see there and we heard there was an outside area. We felt like we had to be quiet even outside.... More

The Norton Gallery was a pleasant surprise. Admission is free, and the gallery is more of a museum/gallery combination. Very well maintained and professionally managed. This gallery is huge and full of various works of art, sculptures, artifacts, and more. Each has its own story. They even have two original Rembrandt etchings! It was such a nice break, and I... I had never seen such a large collection of Western art until I visited the Norton. The traveling shows are often wonderful, such as the recent Audubon collection. The gardens are beautiful and always improving. we go to the gardens often to see what is in bloom.

Located in the heart of "old" Shreveport in the fashionable Pierremont section, this oasis of beauty is a must visit! The museum is a must see, but the acres of rolling azaleas will bring the visitor to a state of euphoria when they are in full bloom. The paths carry you through towering bushes overflowing with the wonderment of nature.

I live in town and enjoy visits on occasion esp when there is a new exhibition. They have some good permanent Remington's and other painters to see anytime

The hours can be flaky and security is strange, but the art here is lovely and diverse! Security definitely could have been more friendly as to keep with the atmosphere.. There is an extensive outdoor garden to walk through. They art is from ancient history to modern. Housing original Rodin sculptures, storybook inspired sculptures, multiple antique weapons and art from... More

the docents were so friendly and helpful. We were amazed at the amount of high quality art and variety of the gallery. The quotes on the walls were timely and thought provoking.

Inside is a vast maze of spectacular exhibits of everything from important and beautiful paintings of the widest ranges to a mesmerizing doll collection to weapons to tapestries to wartime items. And you could walk into a serendipitous treat like we did, a group of young poetry-reading contestants giving it their all, a huge treat for me as a lifelong... More
