The Slidell Olde Towne area is a growing section of town that has great character, wonderful restaurants and great retail stores (antiques, art, apothecary, etc). There is always something going on whether it be a monthly "street festival", street fairs, sidewalk sales, etc. Great place to spend some time and some money.

Went to a child's birthday party given at one of the pavilions. A lot of space for the children to play (great playground with nice equipment). Always a breeze .from the surrounding bayous. Very clean grounds and pavilions. Slidell should be proud of this quaint little park in the middle of town and easy to get to. Excellent parking spaces... More

Girlfriend and I have been numerous times and find the place delightful. However, the parking is almost non-existent. Not really a problem because no one goes there. The need to have more activities to generate traffic and need to advertise it more. Across the street at Heritage Park, there are often different events, but no one wants to cross the... More

There are shops for dolls, plates and just anything one can need or want. There is a good turn over of items in there stores, so if you see it latch on to it.

Went there on a Sunday, which according to the website, they were supposed to be open. Found out they weren't from the owner of Victorian Antiques who happened to be at her shop and let us in to look around for a little while. She recommended Denham Springs, which was 70 miles away, so we went there.

Very interesting shops and museums, and an especially good Ice Cream Shop, the Old Town Sidell Soda Shop (see review). We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon meandering through the stores. Suggest you don't do it (except for the Soda Shop) if you're in a hurry.
