Great hiking

The wife and I love to go hike the trails within the park. A must see for families and couples for wildlife and local La habitat

I love to hike, and I love Louisiana. So I was saddened today to see the terrible condition this state park is in. Heaps of trash are washed up all along the river bank. The camping areas remain closed following the devastating flood in August 2016 and the hiking/biking trails off the boardwalk are a muddy mess. Hunting dogs with... More

Tickfaw State Park has fun activities for everyone. Canoes, camping areas for tents, trailers, motor homes and pop up campers. The sites contain all utilities. If you have a large group there are large cabins that are beautiful and self-contained. There is an educational building with specimens from tiny to large that make their homes in the park. The park... More

To simply put, Tickfaw state park is relaxing. I've been on field trips when I was young, camped out in tents solo as an adult, & picnic'd with family here. The staff has always been kind & the bathrooms clean. Overall it's a nice, outdoorsy spot worth revisiting regardless of the time of year.

We had a great time here. The walks were great, the facilities (toilets etc.) in excellent condition and our grandson had a great time playing in the water park - his first experience of one. Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed a nice nights stay in Cabin # 1 on Monday night, June 13, 2016. The cabin is very nice. A comfy bed in one BR. There are double bunks in the second bedroom and a sleeper sofa. All the linens were of basic quality but nice. Yes, you make your own bed, but I like that because then... More

I love going hike the multiple trails and the long trail along the Tickfaw river. It's peaceful and you never know what your gonna see out there.

We brought our nieces and nephew and they loved it! The trails were very cool. Not too long, not to short. The splash pad was awesome. The park was really nice. The tent area could be a little bigger, but over all really nice. Would love to rent a cabin in the future.

We were fortunate to be here after some of the water/flooding was dissipating, and we could walk a couple of the trails. The trails are nicely maintained and we enjoyed seeing the swampy area with cypress trees. We also thought the Nature Center with its aquarium was worth a view. We also enjoyed the view when we traveled to this... More

Tickfaw is a park where you get to experience real Louisiana. There are miles of hiking trails through the woods and the swamp that make this a good day-trip destination. Plus, the visitors center is very nicely laid out, and is a great place to cool down with some air conditioning after a few miles of walking around in the... More
