We stayed for three nights. We probably won't stay here again. The good: Only about twenty minutes from New Orleans. Our site was shady with a grill, fire pit and wooden deck. There was a wooden walkway to the bathrooms close by as well. There...More

I didn't realize how beautiful the swamps and marshes are! Everyone should take some time to visit the Louisisna wetlands because they are disappearing.

We reserved online, and arrived after hours and the gate was locked, our reservations did not show options on where or how to get in, we had to call a friend that had stayed there before so he told us how to find the "back...More

I visited here with family a couple of weeks ago. The park has a boat launch and a huge picnic/cookout area, but we were unable to find any trails or anything like that. The bayou was full of animals and we got a good up...More

The camping spots here are spacious, the bathroom and showers are clean and the proximity to New Orleans can't be beat. The mosquitos are off the chain, so bring bug spray or you will cry. Take the ferry from Algiers to the Quarter, runs every...More

Bayou Segnette is the only place we camp when visiting the New Orleans area. The location couldn't be better. It's about 20 minutes from The French Quarter, depending on your route. Typically we cross the Huey P. Long Bridge, and drive through the Garden District...More

No. If you have a vehicle there are several Catholic Churches nearby, St. Bonaventure and Assumption of Mary, both in Avondale and Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego.

There is a ferry that runs from near the park to the French Qtr. They will tell you about it when you check in if you ask.
