I didn't realize how interesting seeing this bridge was going to be. It looks like primitive art but how it has endured the elements for so many years is absolutely impressive! Built in the 1920's and still going strong with only minimal maintenance in 2010....More

From crossing the bridge by good or vehicle, or viewing it from the water, this is one amazing structure that is like no other! One can not describe how beautiful it is.

This is a attractive bridge spanning Orr's Island and Bailey Island. There is a small area to pull off to take photos and look out at the lobster boats. Nice views from the bridge.

I understand that this is an iconic bridge. One of a kind or only a few. Specific purpose is to let tidal water flow thru. Wort seeing. I also recall that it was rebuilt just a few years ago.

What can you say? It's a landmark bridge . It has a good foot traffic walkway. It was rebuilt a few yrs ago. It is if I am correct one of two in the world.

I read that this is the only bridge of its kind in the country but I read another place that it is in fact the only bridge of it's kind in the world! That makes it even more interesting! If you're not driving, drink in...More
