Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a natural wonder on 270 acres of shorefront in mid-coast Maine. Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It's no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine's top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 April 15 - October 31 (open until 6 pm in July and August). There is a cafe and gift shop on site. A visit at any time is a memorable experience.

I went here with my 1.5 year old in the Spring and he absolutely loved it! He has an affinity for plants and especially flowers. He particularly loved the children's area with the fountain. My significant other and I went back for the Lights Aglow event this past weekend and loved that as well. I highly recommend.

This was an incredible adventure. Truly an event for all ages, my 20-month-old grandson loved it. He kept saying, "Wow!" There were many elderly people there, and a number of people in wheelchairs and many strollers. It was a beautiful sight. I cannot wait to go back in the summer and see what it is like with the flowers blooming.

The garden aglow is pretty sweet! Line to get in was long, lots of traffic at peak time (6-8). Much better later. Worth the wait, food trucks, pizza and hot beverage stands. 12 of us went together the kids loved it. Lots of lights, well marked, take your time and enjoy it. I bet it would look awesome with snow.... More

Not on the beaten path, but worth the drive! Follow the signs from town ... Beautiful fall punkins display, colorful flower plantings, beautiful ponds, whimsical Children's Garden and a quiet walk/hike through the woods, past the rocky hillside, along the Back River - little-used and peaceful. Many thanks to the locals who preserved, developed and now share these Gardens! Details... More

Amazing......Had vendors throughout the walk, had a fire pit. No Hooke decorations. Nature at its best. Gift shop onsite, as well as a sit down restaurant/cafe.

A wonderful event to celebrate the holiday season. We stayed in Boothbay Harbor. We shopped and enjoyed the local restaurants. We caught the shuttle from downtown to the Botanical Gardens. Never had to wait for the shuttle, never caught in traffic. We enjoyed the Gardens for about an hour then went back to enjoy a meal. Shopped some more the... More

You need to reserve a time slot prior to going as it's extremely crowded but well worth it. It takes about 30-45 minutes to walk through and there are stops along the paths for hot chocolate, coffee, smores, etc. Its a really great experience for the whole family. A must go if you are visiting the area between mid November... More

These gardens are among the best in the country! They are so informative - telling you the names of all of their plants as well as being beautiful to all the senses. If you are lucky enough to be in the area in December, their holiday light show is not to be believed.

Wow...Wow...Wow! The lights were so beautiful. Every way you turned you had a different perspective. Fun time for the whole family. They had food trucks and areas set up selling kettle corn and hot chocolate.
