We ventured slightly off the beaten path to discover this amazing place. Beautiful harbor that is exactly what you would picture for a small but active harbour community. Good parking (free) even with our camper in tow. The staff of volunteers was very knowledgeable, keen...More

We were attracted to Petty Harbour by the Mini Aquarium and added it to our modified day trip from St. John's along route 10. The Mini Aquarium itself had an interesting back story, as it resulted from the cod moratorium of 1992, which left the...More

The interpreters (mostly university students on summer break) were impressively knowledgable and passionate! Rare and special opportunity to get up close to a huge variety of species! Smaller facility made it manageable to allow the kids to roam free and to keep the visit to...More

This is where you take the kids! Great rainy day activity. And then you can watch the cod fisherman cut things up and taunt the seagulls. This is a small exhibit hall with 30 tanks to look at of various creatures. They also have a...More

Visited this with our two children (13 and 11). I wasn't sure if this would be too juvenile or boring for them (or us, for that matter), but we were pleasantly surprised! It is very small but had many different species of ocean life, with...More

A taxi from Petty Harbour might be about $50 round trip. We would recommend renting a car for the day so that way you can spend lots of time in Petty Harbour, stay for lunch at Chafe's Landing or go for a Zipline Tour. Or... More
